When my friend first started lifting he made a pact with himself that he would never rob from a mom and pop store. About a month ago however a store came to his town that he wasnt sure about. It only has one location, which is what makes him think its a mom and pop store, it also has no LP. but on the other hand its about the size of a regular sized Walmart and they do a good amount of business. They also sell very high priced items.
so essentially I want to know if my friend is, by his own standards, morally justified taking this store for all its worth.

A mom and pop store is at its a core a business that's run by independent owners which are usually below middle class and sometimes the store is a cultural reflection of the town.
ok my definition is this: if you can talk to the owner directly it's a mom and pop store

One location sounds like it's owned by middle class people, stick to the big names.

the op is asking that question specifically to get a judgement on this one store so your answer was kind of moot

If there's an Inc. in its name, it's not a mom and pop. A corporation is an entity legally separated from those who operate it. Remember what Mitt Romney said...corporations ARE people.
who cares, go rob that shit
This, moralfags.

Who cares? I mean, don't misunderstand me - I do see where people are coming from with that line of reasoning/morality. But, when it gets down to it, why do you care? Also, I'm pretty sure by your description that it's not a "Mom and Pop" store. Just a guess, though.
Why don't you try researching the store on the internet? See if you can find their website. Maybe, that will provide some insight?

The reason I do not agree with shoplifting from mom and pop stores is because, im my mind at least, there is a difference between a criminal and a punk that commits a crime... A punk is working for profit, and he will do what he needs to do regardless of how bad it hurts someone else. On the other hand a criminal is also working for profit, but a criminal will think before he acts, understand the consequences of his actions and the turmoil it will place on others and decide that the 100 waffle maker is not worth hurting an entire family... but thats just me.

My friend has looked it up online, thats how he came to relize that it only had one location... He does this for every store who's name he cant immideatly recongnize.

From what you've said about the store, it definitely isn't a mom and pop. Those stores are usually owned by one or two people, who are usually middle class. A Walmart-sized store on the other hand would require several million to get started, making its owner(s) anything but.

I'm not sure, but i would slowly rob it, not takin' to much at one time. And not enough to come close to bankrupting them (not like it's possible) but just don't be an ass about it, take what you need/ small wants. Good luck, have fun with your morals
