I'm not sure if this is the right section or not, so just move it if it's out of place.
Recently I came into a pretty good amount of weed, and with having such an amount, I built up a pretty quick immunity, and it made me realize that I'll never be able to afford to be high 24/7, but I also realized how much of my time I spend just getting high, or finding ways to get free weed.
I guess I need to start finding better ways to spend my time, plain and simple.
The things I've considered are:
Getting a job. Easier said than done, but it's a good chunk of the day I can't get high, or be high
At least limiting who I smoke with. I already have someone in mind, who has a job, so it would take a good chunk out of my smoking time
Limiting how high I get. If I don't get retarded high every time, I won't have as much of an immunity
Just quitting. Easier said than done when 75% of my day is finding and smoking drugs
Starting a workout rutine. It's at least an hour a day where I won't be getting high
Exploring the worlds of reading again. If I can get really into a few books I could go weeks without even considering getting high
Writting/animating. I have explored, and enjoy writting and animating, but it also has it's down time (writters block), so I would still be tempted to get high
What I'm looking for is advice on what I should do, and if a complete lifestyle change is a realistic goal.

No offence, grow a pair. You act as if those things are hard.
Get a job, all that take is going out and applying.
Stop smoking? Easy, I did it. I used to smoke tons, before work, at work, after work, in between beers at night. I don't buy weed anymore, I maybe smoke once or twice a month, and that's if someone decides to smoke me up. I don't go looking for people to get me high, I don't ask. It's not hard. After the first week or two you don't even miss it.
Just get off your ass and do these things. Don't post on an interwebs board about doing it, just do it for christs sake.
I don't mean to be harsh man. But as everyone knows, it's one thing to say you're going to change. But unless you really step up, and do it yourself, it won't change. No one is going to hold your hand and give you a job. No one is going to take the bong from from. No one gives a shit. YOU have to give a shit, YOU have to be the one to change things.
Just do so, become a better person.
And you're "ENTIRE LIFESTYLE CHANGE" amounts to not smoking mass amounts of pot, and being a total lazy piece of shit. I hate to sound like your dad, but get a job. Get off the couch. YOU have to make the change, just do it. Pot is not an addiction, it's easy as piss to cut out, take it from me.

Don't kid yourself about not being high on the job. I'm high or drunk most of the time at work. Not to the point of acting retarded, but constantly buzzed. It's much easier to cope with dumb asses when high. And trust me, no matter how great your job is, there will always be dumb asses around.
Unless you're a sheep herder or something. God, I wish I was a sheep herder.
^ Getting high makes time slow down. Wouldn't want to go to work high .

No it doesn't. The trick is to have a constant buzz. If you keep going up and down, time will feel slow. But if you take a smoke break every two hours, you'll have a constant buzz and time will fly. Do it every day and within a month you'll be as numb as a zombie.
Benzos help too.
You know, In case of a fire or other emergency, I'm an evacuation coordinator at work. I fucking hope to God one day the whole thing gets fucked up in flames. I can already imagine strolling like a brain dead crazy down the hall as all those lemmings roll on the floor in smoldering agony.
Don't be a tool man, be high at work.

Definitely these. Especially the first one (the reading).
Bookz ftw!

Listen, asshole. I walk at least 10 miles a day. I'm far from "a total lazy piece of shit".
Where do you work? You filled out an application and got a job right away? It takes fucking time when everyone else in this town is getting laid off.
I've done ALOT more than smoke pot. I'm only 3 weeks clean off meth, and that won't be until Thursday.
Yeah. Quit smoking pot completely and report back. It's not real easy when every person I hang out with calls and asks if I want to get high.

I did quit smoking completely, for over a year. Now it's just like, what the fuck why not. And I still turn it down 90 percent of the time. Most of my friends still smoke a lot of pot, including my girlfriend. I can hang around them when they are smoking, and I don't feel like a greedy little freak who's like "Oh shit, pot pot pot. Fuck, I can't sit here and not have pot, people are doing it! I need to!"
I don't really care how much you walk.
And no offence, sitting at home, doing nothing aside from smoking pot... Makes you a lazy piece of shit.

A "Complete" lifestyle change is obviously gonna take time.... so don't rush into it or you'll just burn yourself out and fall back into old habits.
I've got to agree with you though; reading, writing and animating are pretty damn cool... i just kinda doodle shit though =P very little artistic talent.
Getting a job isn't all too hard really either, you've just gotta be able to work well with people since service industry is pretty much the only place to find work anymore without higher education.... shit, flipping burgers is a job too after all is said and done.
i guess the only advice i can give you really is to take it slow when you're trying to change your entire lifestyle, it is for the better in the end.
I understand how hard this has gotta be for you. If you're with a group of friends who are smoking, just take a hit or something, then pass it along and don't take anymore. Or take really shallow hits. Also, try and get your friends to go out and do stuff where they can't/won't wanna smoke.

A good place to start with quitting your smoking is to set a schedule - "I can't smoke until after 10PM", or "I can't smoke until I've done so and so"
Good luck :)

Just because you "walk ten miles a day" doesn't mean your not a total lazy piece of shit. The fact that you complain about trying to get a job and complain about "how hard it is to quit smoking" is what makes you a total lazy piece of shit.
So everyone is getting laid off. What the hell does that have to do anything. Get off your ass and send out those applications. Anybody can find a minimum wage job anywhere.
Also, stop whining and quit. Plain and simple. Your three weeks off of meth huh? Taking it a day at a time right? What a bunch of crap, you're the only one in control of what you do. So what if everyone you hang out with wants to get high? Here's a thought..... SAY NO.

Hey man, I know it's under your control and stuff like that, but that still doesn't mean it's not really, really hard. Addictions are really hard to beat sometimes... It's not as simple as "just stop doing it".

So by your logic I could be a farmer, working from the crack of dawn until late at night, and if I bitched and smoked a joint while I was farming I'm "a lazy piece of shit"?

Yeah, because it's really easy to find a job when nobody is hiring because they just got done laying everyone off

Smoke meth for a little while. Get to the point to where if your 3 or 4 days clean your not happy. 3 weeks is actually pretty good.
I also would like to tell you to get the fuck out of my thread. Your clearly a troll, especially if you only have 2 other posts.

That's kind of what I was thinking about doing. My only real problem with weed is that it's really no big deal, yet I have to pay a lot to get high after I build up an immunity.
My short term plan at the moment is not to smoke unless I'm with Jessica, and she starts work Monday, so I pretty much can't smoke until 4:30PM most days.
