A friend of mine is enamored with the rent scam (http://www.zoklet.net/bbs/showthread.php?t=40621) in all its elegant simplicity. Problem is, her scruples won't allow her to take advantage of individuals that way.

Corporations, however, would be fair game.

So, she's wondering, is there a way to use the same basic technique, only adjust it so that a corporation or other big business becomes the mark instead of an individual? Not only would she be more comfortable with this, but she also suspects that there'd be more money in it this way, as the bigger the business, the more they tend to spend on "housing".

Ideas?

Nothing? I'm not asking to be spoon-fed here. I just haven't yet managed to come up with anything that isn't complete fail.

This isn't the best place to bring your scruples.

This isn't the best place to bring your scruples.

Not mine, hers. I totally agree with you.

Forget the scruples. Let's just focus on the fact that it could/should be a much bigger score!

Why would a corporation be looking on craigslist to rent a house? And you think a corporation will pay you cash? This simply doesn't work. I hadn't seen that rent scam post though, its a great idea.

Craigslist isn't the only place to list rental real estate, and cash isn't the only way to complete the deal.

Suppose they wired funds into your bank account after finding you on LoopNet? Just an (probably terrible) example...
