How to make fake money? (Joke)

I am trying to make fake money, not to use in stores and stuff but just to play a joke on a friend. I actually want it to seem like real money so he believes it.

My idea is to use nail polish remover to get the ink off a dollar bill then re print a picture of a 20 onto it.

only problem is how do i print it exactly onto both sides of the bill?

i tried just printing onto regular printer paper and i couldnt even arrange it to be in the same spot on both sides. so i dont see how i would print onto something the size of a dollar.

yes i figured trial and error and just understanding how the printer prints, but is it possible to scan the piece of paper then on your computer put a picture of a front and back of a 20. like on photoshop or something, then print it out at one time.

can you even print front and back?

you print off a plain sheet of paper thru the printer. then attach the note to the paper so that where the 20 came out on the paper is where you want it on the note. just stick it to the paper with blue tac or whatever you call it over there. just be careful not to have any turned up edges on the side that goes thru first. then just put it thru the printer again with the note attached in the right place. the 20 should print in the right place.

and to the other guy, my printer is an inkjet and i have already made copies and printed it out on regular paper, if i can perfect it i may actually wipe the ink off a dollar and try to print right onto the dollar.

first off you'll be printing off a sheet of plain a4 paper, so your number 20 comes somewhere in the middle or whatever.

secondly you will be putting that same piece of paper thru again so the number 20 prints in exactly the same place.

only you will affix the dollar bill to the paper, arranged so that where you want your number 20 to print on the note is in the exact same place where the first print is.

correct me if im wrong, but first im going to print the 20 onto the paper, and then i will tape or watever the blank bill right on top. then i will put it through again so it prints directly on top of it.

then i flip the half blank bill over and put it in the same spot so it prints on the other side.

the only issue i have is flipping the bill over and placing it in the same spot on the copier.

is it possible to scan a picture of both sides and save it on my computer and print each so they print in the exact same spot?

you probably could. but i recon it would take a bt of setting up and trial and error getting it right. if you are actually just looking to do a few notes then i was giving you the shortcut method. just do one side then repeat on the other.

Assuming you're talking about US currency...I've heard that it'll print out much better if you do a black and white scan of the bill, edit it in PhotoShop, color the paper, let it dry, and then print the green/black on the front and the green on the back.

just a quick thought on what your all saying about scanning in a note. i cant be bothered to read all thru the cf thread and not sure if this has been mentioned or if it would even work but. what if you cut a note into 4 quarters, put it into the middle of some random pic and then scanned all four parts in like that. then in gimp/shop crop the quarter piece of note out of the pic and put all four pieces back together again.

would that work or not?
