crosman c31

or the gama p23

the c31 has more fps, yet the p23 shoots pellets.
what do you guys think?

Gamo.

Pellets = more accurate.

Also, check out the Crosman 1088 as well, it's probably cheaper than the Gamo but it's a pretty nice air pistol.

the c31, p23 and 1008 are all mediocre. bb guns speeds(fps) advertised on websites are usually a little exagerated...and whatever airgun you choose get some pellgun for it, helps alot for general miantance and especially the co2 seal in the long run.

are you looking for anything specific in a bb gun?

try looking up these nice co2 models

Crosman Auto Air IIB (shoots bbs and pellets @ high speed (450-480 fps)
althought getting harder to find now of days.

Anics Skif A-3000( 28 shot magazine semi auto @ decent speed (380-420 fps)

Crosman T4( glock look-alike, shoots bbs and pellets @ relatively low speed (340-380 FPS)

Daisy Powerline 41( high speed (480-520 fps) single shot target pistol.

Walther CP88 and Colt 1911 are two good pistols if you care more for cosmetic quality, they are also decent performers (350-400 fps)

The Crosman AutoAir II also has a 20 pound trigger pull and is only single shot with pellets.

A CO2 gun that is only semi-auomatic with BBs is pretty worthless.

Get a .50 muzzleloader.

In terms of what?

Simple.

If I only have the ability to fire one pellet before I have to reload, I'm going to buy a pneumatic like the Crosman 1377 or a Marksman 2004.

Because, if limited to one shot, I want a gun with more power and, more importantly, one that is more accurate than you typical CO2 pistol, plus pneumatics tend to have much more manageable triggers than CO2 guns.

I've had 3 Marksman 2004s over the years, I gave my first two away to people with pest bird issues, but the one I have now has a BSA red dot on it.

And, with or without the red dot, I can put 10 out of 10 pellets into a quarter at 15 yards.

I can't do that with my Daisy 008 (CO2 repeater) that costs twice as much.

But, what the Daisy lacks in inherit accuracy it makes up for it by holding 8 pellets.

It's all a balancing act.

But I'm viewing this from a total hunting (or, more accurately sparrow blasting) point of view, so I pretty much need a gun that shoots pellets as they are more efficient killers than BBs.

I assumed OP wanted a decent co2 gun for plinking..and I recommended some good models that were good for that.....didnt have hunting in my mind at all, specifically because he mentioned a c31 and a p23....
I want a gun with more power .
why not go with a .22 pcp?

Because my Gamo Shadow .177 and Sheridan Pumps in .177 and .22 are all I need for squirrels and birds.

I can buy CB ammo for my .22 rifles if I have to kill something larger, but have to be quiet about it.

And, I really don't want to spend the money for a quality PCP airgun, lol.
