Okay, so I have a question/problem:

My computer is of Japanese make, so most of the software on it is in Japanese. That's not a huge problem, since my Japanese is pretty good, but recently I've found myself wishing that I could switch Windows Media Player to English. It's Series 9, so it's not exactly the newest release, but even when I've tried downloading and re-installing the software, if always automatically reverts to Japanese...

Any ideas? I realize that downloading and using a third-party software is a decent idea, but I specifically want to know about making Windows Media Player bend to my will:mad:

Wouldn't it be easier if you just reinstall windows with english environment?
Anyway, have you try messing with your Regional and Language Options
Very funny remembering how I wish to use japanese environment desktop
There's some program that can only be opened with Japanese Environment (Well, I already installed IME tough, fix most things)

unfortunately, the computer has built-in "restore" software instead of a windows CD, so even if I did install windows from an outside disk, I would have to re-configure all of the laptop peripherals that are usually automatically installed...plus, this computer is a compact, so there's no CD/DVD drive

...believe me, I spend a very long time mulling my options for installing windows in english, and ultimately decided that the inconvenience of having to sometimes look up a work in the dictionary was outweighed by the inconvenience of possibly losing essential system files for the laptop's configuration

HOWEVER - I updated to WMP10, and there was a language option when I downloaded the update file, so problem solved.:D

...I should have just tried that at the beginning...:smilie1:
