Since all the American/Canadian douches decided to fuck up your thread and get it locked, I thought I'd do you a favour and set out the laws:

You have to belong to a gun club, and be over 18 to buy a rifle/shotgun, or over 12 to receive one as a gift.

The police have to check you have the correct cabinet and storage facilities for the gun[s] and ammo.

You can only own single shot guns. You'll mostly find shotguns, but I'm pretty sure you can buy rifles such as the SMLE or Springfield M1903.

That's pretty much the basics. Handguns you can't own, I don't think you can own semi automatic guns such as the Garand, and you definitely can't own full auto's.

You can also own any gun in some obscure calibre which they no longer make ammo for, no license required.

Now lets just hope the Ameritards don't come and fuck this thread up.

You don't have to belong to a club to get a shotgun certificate, and you can hold a semi auto or pump action shotgun as long as it has a fixed mag with no more than a 2 shot capacity, over 2 shots capacity and you require a FAC . Black powder revolvers are no covered by the handgun ban and may be held on a FAC, but i think you have to be a club member, as private clubs tend to be the only ranges you will get access to.

Because apparently you morons don't need any help to fuck information up.

If you post something, make sure it's correct so that the person below you doesn't have to correct you!

If I stated the informations as "facts" then you have a point, but my OP is littered with phrases such as "I think", "I'm pretty sure" etc etc indicating I don't know for sure the laws and they should be read up in the link I provided.

Glad I could be of help.

Even the mod of this forum is a patriotic idiot. To be fair he probably locked the previous thread cos he thought all guns were banned in the UK and as such a thread about guns in the UK couldn't belong in his forum.

And your thoughts were wrong, moron. They were wrong and unhelpful until corrected. But go on and think Stabilo is thanking you. Way to make assumptions.

Not only are you making sweeping generalizations in your original post, which are logically fallacious, but you don't know anything about me. You're making another logical fallacy in believing you know whether or not I'm patriotic. If you had any reading comprehension, you'd realize I haven't said anything remotely patriotic, nor do you know from which country I hail.

You also don't know what I think, and I most definitely do not think all guns are banned in the UK. I think off topic threads aren't supposed to be posted, which is why I'm a mod and you're not.

However, I do think tards like you don't belong in "my" forum, so fuck off until you learn to use real logic.

Because this could have been taken care of in PM, or in the original thread before it was derailed, and is now answered, there's no need for this thread to stay around. Therefor, I'm locking it. Have a nice day and stay in school.
PS your original question was answered in the UKgundealer link. Look at all the hyperlinks.
