Making a new homepage and menu system, need some feedback

Im working on a new front page and menu system for all pages. I would just like to see what people think and what you would change on the new page if anything. Is the color scheme good?
Should there be less whitespace?
More padding or wider search menu background?
Should I put toolbar ad back like it is on the normal page or put it where the totse banner is and rotate them?

It looks cluttered.
If you got rid of all the background colors in the main body-text area, it would look a lot cleaner.

Ya true the front page doesnt need a sidebar. I think drop boxes are easier for the user but input and select forms can be a pain in different browsers. I might switch to a drop down menu and get rid of the select form and put in a background gif for the input like torrents.to does.

Thats why the logo is like that.

Ya true, Ive been meaning to do that but I've been trying to find the right form first. I want it to be rounded at the edges.

It looks like you designed it for a 800 x 600 screen, but in a 1280 x 1024 screen it looks way to small, the homepage that is. And I too think the background should be darker.
