hey,

need a bit of help. This has been going on for around a year now, whenever i yawn i find i get a pain in my chest...i also feel sick and my head gets dizzy. It feels as if my heart skips a beat for a few seconds...anyone know why?

No one here is a medical professional, so i just see a doctor, especially if its a heart condition.

Sounds stupid, but it might be air trapped in your lungs. Sometimes I get those sorts of pains but they go away when I take a deep breath, although it hurts like a motherfucker. It's not your heart maybe; it's air trapped inside your lungs.

Although now that you mention it, it does always happen at my left side, too. Do you smoke as well?

Probably Precordial catch syndrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precordial_catch_syndrome) I get it all the time. Even so, probably worth seeing a doctor anyway, just in case.

That could be pleuresy - infection of the lung lining .. are they quite sharp pains?

You should really stop smoking, nigger. I remember you saying you coughed up blood.

Shit's not good.

My sister and I both have something just like that.
Occasionally I'll just stop in my tracks, put my hand to my chest and say something like "Hold on... having a heart attack... ... ... ... Ok I'm done..." and continue on my way...

So it's good to know that we've not just been having hundreds of actual heart attacks. ;)

You are fine.

The pains are unrelated. When you yawn you can pinch nerves or cause muscles spasms of your diaphragm/axillary breathing muscles, which can hurt but they aren't dangerous.
