There was a fairly big thread on totse about Ikariam (one of the better ones). Don't know if anyone here plays it still?

I play Ikariam and Travian - both similar gameplay and really addictive I think. Anyone else play any?

In particular the titles I've paid most attention to are Ikariam, Travian, and more recently Wild Guns. I should say that some of the more difficult "Smart" levels, as well as the multi-Attractor levels are a little... When alone play against your mobile phone in single player mode. Denial - Orbient? flOw? Never heard of them! [phew, at least they didn't mention Spore's cell stage]. I've grown equally as addicted to this thing, (I think I checked up on my account for a second half way through reading your post...), and I agree with the issues you've stated, though I don't find them too much of a nuisance. Let's get this straight--Travian is complex for a browser-based game. Have you got the courage to take up the.

There were very few browser games that I got really into. My top two would have to be:

1.) Insaniquarium
You start with a tiny little goldfish. You feed and care for that goldfish until it grows, and you gain funds from it's droppings (supposedly, they're eggs that you sell). You use those funds to buy more goldfish, and care for them. Occasionally a predator will show up in your tank, and you shoot it. With lasers. You can use your money to upgrade said laser as well. Then you can get more tropical fish which yield more money, but have different compatability for different fish (for example, some will eat others, some will just fight, etc). Eventually, you'll be managing a ton of fish, a ton of income, and all that. It gets pretty hectic in the end.

2.) Defend Your Castle
If you havent played this one, you've most likely been under a rock for a while. You have a castle, and you defend it from hordes of stick figures. Thicken the walls, hire archers, mages, and other troops to help defend your castle while more and more waves of stick men try to barge through the gates. This title got itself a WiiWare download, and it's every bit as fun on the Wii as it is on the browser!

Desktop Tower Defense imo.

Or what's that motherfucking game called with the gems, where you have to defend your castle, that was epic as shit.
