Obviously just coincidence but a little thought provoking none the less.

maybe the universe is a cell, and it was created when another cell split and multiplied

makes you wonder how big the universe really is

they aren't comparing the size

I always thought of it as more of a molecule. Much like a molecule is made up of a bunch of atoms stuck togther, the universe is made up of a bunch of solar systems stuck together. And the way a solar system is arranged is pretty much exactly like an atom. 98% empty space with a number of orbitals (planets) orbiting a nucleus (the sun). Things pretty much go from infinitly small to infinitly big. A single molecule from the table next to you could be an entire universe unto itself. Just as our universe could be a molecule that helps make up an empty candy wrapper in a in a much larger universe.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't think the pics are a coincedence.

Man in black - ending HD - YouTube

Men In Black II Final - YouTube

I love the ending bits to those movies, the theme about the universe being far weirder & vaster than we can imagine.

The first clip was pretty awsome. I know I've seen the movie, but I don't remember that being in there.

It's not a coincidence. Things organise themselves naturally into similar structures, and you can see it easier on really small or really big scales. If you look closely, everything in nature is composed of fractals, which actually makes sense if you think about it because a fractal is the simplest way to create a complex structure.

Keep in mind all of those space pictures are colored to match their counterparts they are trying to compare to. The actual real pictures would be in grayscale and unedited they don't really resemble each other at all.

Explain the mathematics behind a fractal in your own words.

A) Not sure where the fuck the "picture" of the universe comes from. In all probability, it's just a mishmash scattering of stars rather than some neuron-like structures.

B) More like the division of a cell and stars don't necessarily die that way, and that's one stage of the death of a star. that particular picture is from SN 19878A (no, I didn't google that, I actually take interest in Astronomy) I believe it's probably turned into a neutron star at this point but the light hasn't reached us yet. That's just a stupid fucking comparison.

C) the Crab Nebula one is pretty fuckin' stupid since this is also technically part of the "death of a star", I don't see anybody comparing them viceversa

tl;dr stop sharing your shitty friends' shitty facebook posts.
