The only people at risk of getting salmonella are children, physically weak people and the elderly. It's not a risk for anyone else. I will continue to eat peanut butter.

jack, you wanna comment on your experience with salmonella? I think they'd enjoy the story.
That being said, here's a list of the products being recalled by the FDA due to this outbreak. (http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/peanutbutterrecall/index.cfm) Might be good information to know.
EDIT: http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/peanutbutterrecall/index.cfm is the URL, since evidently embedded URL's don't change color, and it might not be terribly obvious that I embedded the URL in my above sentence.

So I had no idea that the peanut butter that I had consumed could have been the culprit..I still have the jars. I don't even go out during flu season. Eating food contaminated with salmonella bacteria can cause abdominal cramping, diarrhea and fever. I didn't realize I had the peanut butter that everyone was talking about. Linda of Lacenter KY (02/15/07). I had to stay overnight in the hospital in the maternity ward b/c they did not know if the baby would be born or not. I was sick for about three days. I visited the emergency room in October and December when the symptoms were too severe, and missed several days from work since June with these symptoms. What about Dr.Bills, missed wages from work, and all the sick people. I still have the jar with the 2111 code on it. Salmonella, is a bacteria that can cause illness when ingested.

Yeah, I'm pissed because I bought a case of peanut butter snack cracker things from Sams Club to sustain me at school (Austin Town brand or whatever) and I guess they were recalled. There's cheese ones in there too but fuck the cheese ones suck dick.
