Dog impetigo contagious in humans?

My rottie got diagnoised with impetigo yesterday, which is a bit shit but definitely a weight off my mind

I'd completely convinced myself it was a brain tumor because googling anything medical always brings back worst case scenario

Anyway I just realised I didn't even ask the vet, can people catch it from dogs?
I can't seem to find an answer online
I'm sure he would of mentioned it if it was possible?

I tried googling the answer to this, but couldn't find it. This thread was the first result. :rolleyes: It's apparently contagious from person to person, but no info on dog to person.

Call your vet's office and ask.

As far as I'm aware, it's very rare that people catch impetigo from dogs.

I'm assuming your vet gave you antibiotics or a hydrogen peroxide shampoo for your dog?
