Self- Explanatory title. I took them out for dusting today, so I thought I'd show you one of each kind.

So, did a strange man in an airplane give those to you for free?

Very cool. I wouldn't keep them anywhere near my residence for fear of detonation but that's still cool.

ever lit one off? I always wanted to figure out how the mechanism on a grenade was assembled.

No, actually some military friends gave them to me years ago when I was very young.
I have 25 of them at my farm. Just haven't got around to unpacking the crates in years. I have some more in my house, although I doubt I'll ever need them.

@ Freelance:

I've noticed that the spoons on them seem very fragile. I've always wondered how soldiers hang them from their straps and they never break off. One of the ones at my farm is missing the pin, with the spoon held to the body with copper wire wrapped around. Never figured out how the pin was lost.

I wouldn't hang them from straps at all then. We carry M67s in pouches, but they're specifically made for those grenades. I'm sure a little improvisation could get something cranked out. Just make sure that spoon stays put till you don't want it to stay put anymore.

The old M16 pouches have some loops for the grenades at each side.
But I've still seen them hanging and wondered abt it. I wouldn't do it, personally.

So, if I visit and bring 50 USD, can I try one? :D

I seriously want to blow up a goat or cow or something, If plane tickets to Guat weren't so expensive i'd be there tomorrow.

For what? they're kind of expensive you know? Like $60 or something. I'd much rather save them for a special occassion.

For the grenade with the copper pin the pin was probably pulled then lost or it was taken in some kind of military action IE negotiations or booby trap and the copper wire was inserted as a temporary pin.

And I want a crate too. :D
Never know when you'll need em.

I'd even like to see if I could get some inert ones with the spoon and all intact and the likes so they can be shipped through the mail then "refilled" at a later date. :p

Anyways later days.

No, it doesn't have a copper pin. It has copper wire wrapped around the spoon and body, precariously holding it together. I'll try and dig it out for you when I get the chance.

You said you had 26 of them? Fuck! If I had just one it would of been thrown in my neighbors yard within a few seconds of having it.
