View Full Version : Cowboy Bebop Anime + Movie
I am surprise that this EPIC Anime didn't have it's own thread, well i hope this thread will remain alive for a long long time.
I just finished one of the best Anime's i have ever seen in my life and about 10 minutes ago i watched the final episode, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that i am high on shock and adrenaline and a sense of loss.
Cowboy Bebop is truly a remarkable and moving Anime. It's nothing like i have ever seen and to be honest i hate myself for not seeing it before. I was exposed to this Anime by it's movie and after watching the movie and especially FAYE VALENTINE and of course the action and the story line, i decided to download the whole series.
3 Days ago i watched the first episode from that day onwards it's been a struggle keeping awake and managing life. All night i had to watch this Anime and to be honest i don't regret it one bit.
So, for anyone looking for an awesome joy ride into an Anime genre which few try to expose and do it well in such a great way Cowboy Bebop is the way to go.
10/10 best Anime in my collection.

The reason people don't discuss it on a new thread here is it's old and there were several threads on TOTSE.
Though PM 'Argus' AKA ArgonPlasma2000; he's a good Bebop fan

Well, this isn't Totse. So, it's Zoklet first then. Thanks for the heads up.

Best anime ever
It's got pretty much everything, from humor, to action, to story, to a hot chick, space and vices.

I got a good rip of it (Cowboy Bebop - Knockin` on Heaven`s Door (2001)[1280x720,HDTV,x264] - THORA). I watched the Movie and then watched the Anime. Suffice to say it was good enough for me to download 9 gigs of Anime.
Downloading Firefly as well.

Cowboy Bebop is mandatory for any anime fan to watch. You'll see it in almost every recommendation thread.
I always assume that everybody's already seen it...
Awesome stuff though. Getting ready to buy the series and movie on DVD.
And firefly fucking rocks as well. :)

And it spawned Firefly!
I watched very little, but the Serenity movie was pretty awesome IMO.
I hope the live action film ends up being allright unlike the huge piece of crap Dragonball was.

the movie is incredible, and the series itself is still great.

Cowboy Bebop is pretty much the epitome of good anime.
I haven't watched a series that was good that didn't steal at least some themes and ideas from Cowboy Bebop.

Actually Josh Whedon said that Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star had no influence on Firefly IIRC. Interestingly I heard anoher source say John Whedon was inspired by Outlaw Star. Whedon basically said in an interview he put the two major powers on Earth and fused them (the USA and China) anyway. Outlaw Star follows that premise basically as well. Also, I believed Outlaw Star would be more of an influence on Firefly than Cowboy Bebop

watching Robotech did that for me, at my grandmother's house. Then watching Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, and Gundam

lol. I remember watching Bebop at 8 and remembering my mother bitching about the cursing in Bebop and Gundam Wing aired at midnight. Remember a similar time with watching Outlaw Star

they were on Cartoon Network. And the dub was cool, man. Remember they edited out the more 'racy' parts of the dub. I bought the anime series in 2005 and it was better (Outlaw Star I mean)

The Cowboy Bebop dub is awesomeness. One of the few anime series that I just can't watch subbed. It just doesn't feel right.
Outlaw Star...meh. Some of the english voices annoy me a little, but it's mostly good.
Speaking of Outlaw Star, I tried rly hard to like Angel Links. I rly did. I just couldn't do it. :(

My mom did that sometimes too. Then she started watching Yu Yu Hakusho with me and she liked it lol

Cowboy Bebop is an anime masterpiece. I rarely bring it up, like previously stated, because I just assume anyone who enjoys good anime has already seen it. I admit, I watched it at a much younger age, but it's impact on me at the time.. built the foundation for me to pursue creative writing and the arts. It gave me new insight on the depth that animation could portray. I even learned a few of the songs throughout the series on guitar.
Also.. The Real Folk Blues pt.2.. Classic Ending.

According to this book written by Whedon himself (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?r=1&ISBN=9781845760823&ourl=Serenity%2FJoss%2DWhedon), the only inspiration for Firefly (and subsequently Serenity) was the book The Killer Angels (http://www.amazon.com/Killer-Angels-Michael-Shaara/dp/0345348109) and "a book about Jewish partisan fighters in World War II."
He makes no mention of Cowboy Bebop or Outlaw Star in this book.
Not to discredit Cowboy Bebop, easily one of my top favorites along with Samurai Champloo.
