I did what I said I was going to do today. I bought it second hand for $235 which is a little bit high, but it also came with a red dot sight. It is missing a front sight and the rear iron sights, but I am talking with Hi-Point about getting those mailed to me.

Its fairly light and seems to handle well. I also took it apart for cleaning. The stock itself weighs next to nothing. I think the previous owner used motor oil to lube it, because it smells pretty bad. Pretty much nothing in the receiver can be disassembled. The sear and trigger bars have a metal gate over them to keep them in place. The sear bar can be wiggled loose and the trigger is pinned in place just like in the pistol. Pretty much all other pins are pushed into blind holes, making it extremely difficult to remove them. Good thing the extractors seem to be heavy duty...

I'll be firing it later on today.

EDIT: Something else to mention is that I hear a lot of people like to talk about the stock supposedly being flimsy, but I tried bending it over my knee and it doesn't bend. Also, the 8 round pistol mags won't fit.

I own one as well.

The pistol mags won't fit into the carbine, but the 10 round carbine mags can sort of fit into the pistols (not recommended).

I bought a buttpad and I keep two loaded magazines in there, it evens out the weight of the rifle.

I want to get an ATI stock for it, so no buttpad mags. I might want to try to get a suppressor for it as well, and the original stock is too long so I would have to leave the front sight post off in order to have enough room for threads. The ATI stock has alot more barrel room. Unfortunately for the ATI stock, you can't mount the barrel radiator.

I wish someone would tell me about how to make good mag springs, because I'm pretty sure I have a good design for a double stacked mag for those with long single stacks. I was thinking of using a tilting follower, but I have a slightly more creative and reliable method. :)

All you need now is a buddy with a sawed off shotgun wrapped in duct tape, some propane tanks and some pipebombs :D .

Is that a set of ghost ring sights on a pistol?

Yes. The C9s come with either post sights or a ghost ring. I happen to like the ring because the posts don't block your vision around the front post. Although I think the teeth in the ring need some bright paint to make aiming easier. Not to mention the post sights didn't come with the pistol.

I shot almost a box of 9mm through it over the weekend. It kicks alot harder than I thought it would, or it's just apparent because the stock is so hard and doesn't have a pad. It digs into your shoulder alot harder than even a PSL.

One thing I found exceptionally interesting is that it is a relatively quiet firearm. I can fire it without ear protection and suffer no ringing. The sound is quite unlike any I have ever heard, I think it can be best described like the sound of an air spray nozzle, and I think most of the sound is from the sonic crack of the bullet. Unfortunately I don't have any heavy-ball 9mm around or I'd definitely do a comparison.

Also, it sounds like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1zcnq_wub4

As opposed to these here rednecks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1Az33J0Xus&feature=related

So maybe I did get heavy ball.

I also didn't like the dot sight at all for it and I put my Weaver 1.5x on it.

Music wire. They don't need to be heat treated.
