I wanted to know how I could get in contact with Nigerians who would try and scam me by sending fake cheques, etc.

So far, I have posted 2 ads on craigslist, one for a 1994 toyota camry ($1400, posted in New York City), and another for an expensive marine sonar and gps system by garmin ($4680, posted in Los Angeles).

Any suggestions on how I could get responses from other methods.

How would a Nigerian pay you for a car? I mean. How would they be expecting it if they sent the check with the thought you'd provide them with the car? Mail a car? What? I mean, I doubt they'd buy a car.
I'd say the GPS/sonar is a good idea. Sell stuff like very expensive laptops for ridiculous prices.

I figured they would send me a cheque or numerous cheques that are greater than the value than the product. This is the theory under the traditional scam, where the cheques are cashed and the money is remitted to the sender, thereby benefiting the cheque sender.

Find a regular nigerian scam e-mail in your inbox, start trolling them, but say you are not allowed to do business with people who are not part of your religion (make on up for the lulz, you can get great trophy pics at the same time). Tell them some lulzy requirements but say that they must also make a donation by cash or cheque.

say as soon as a donation is made you can get to business and send them their money they want too (show them pictures to prove you have the cash and are willing to send it...obviously you're not giving them shit though)

I sold my truck for legit on craigslist, and I would get several emails from scammers. Also, there is shipping for automobiles, you didn't know. They arrange transport like on a boat, and truck for when they reach land.
And, they're not actually buying the car, they're trying to scam you by sending a fake check, and having you send back some extra money on top that some guy owes them or something.

From 419eater:

Well, you are probably one of the lucky ones who haven't received any contact from them yet! I find the best place to harvest scammers is Internet guest books. Open up a Search Engine, such as Google or Altavista and type in a search phrase like the following (not including the speech marks), "guestbook +guymen +mugu" this should bring up many sites containing guest books. Pop over to maybe 10 - 25 of the guestbooks and enter some brief details, of course not forgetting to enter your scam harvesting email address! Within a few days (sometimes a lot less) you should start receiving your invitations to share millions!

I have done it this way and I get several emails a week from them.

Post a JUNK email account address in plain text on blogs, websites, anything indexed by google. You'll be in over your head within a few weeks.

Sign guestbooks on random websites, obviously include your email.
