I used to play it a lot. I think I had a lot of sunburst (?) cards. I remember that depending on how many different manas you used to summon them, the stronger they would be. And I had an elf deck.

Holy shit, I just got back into this game because after a party my friend, my brother, and I were bored and we decided to visit our old card shop that we used to frequent.
Now I'm like completely addicted. This Friday I'm planning on going with some friends to the newb card shop and seeing if I can rape there.
My currently favorite deck is Aluren. It's a combo deck that I've gone off on turn two with (rarely, though).
It uses (click on card name for info):
Aluren (http://magiccards.info/autocard.php?card=Aluren)
Cavern Harpy (http://magiccards.info/autocard.php?card=Cavern%20Harpy)
Raven Familiar (http://magiccards.info/autocard.php?card=Raven%20Familiar)
As the main card drawing engine.
Don't see how it works? Here, I'll list it.
Cast Aluren. All creature cards with a converted mana cost of 3 or less are now free, and I can play them anytime I could play an instant.
Play Raven Familiar. Look at the top three cards of your deck, put one in your hand and the rest at the bottom of your library.
Play Cavern Harpy. Bounce the Raven Familiar to my hand.
Play Raven Familiar again. Look at the top three cards, etc.
Pay 1 life to return Cavern Harpy to my hand.
Play Cavern Harpy. Bounce Raven familiar.
Repeat steps 2-6 to literally look through your deck to find these cards (click on card name for info):
Man-o'-war (http://magiccards.info/autocard.php?card=Man-o%27-war)
Spike Feeder (http://magiccards.info/autocard.php?card=Spike%20Feeder)
Ghitu Slinger (http://magiccards.info/autocard.php?card=Ghitu%20Slinger)
Then the process goes:
Play Spike Feeder. Remove a counter to gain 2 life.
Play Man-o'-war. Bounce Spike Feeder.
Play Cavern Harpy. Bounce Man-o'-war.
Play Man-o'-war. Bounce Spike Feeder.
Pay 1 life to return Cavern Harpy to hand.
Play Cavern Harpy. Bounce Man-o'-war.
Note that you get a profit of 1 life every time you use the Spike Feeder ability and pay 1 life for Cavern Harpy. Repeat this process until you have infinite life.
Then, replace the Spike Feeder with Ghitu Slinger and you can repeat it for infinite damage.

I used to play. I think I still have my black deck and blue/red deck lying around. Theyre not very powerful, though. Heh.

yeah sliver decks are pretty awesome, especially when you team up with another guy that also has a sliver deck.
i dunno, i was a fan of creatures. my two decks are
soldiers
-use cheap creatures that tap other creatures (such as whipcorder) and pacifisms to delay their units.
-a few provoking creatures to pick of annoying creatures
-some prevent damage instants like glory day, prismatic strands, as well l as morphs (like frontline strategist)
-bird-soldiers, augmented with equipment to deal the main damage. mainly flying gustcloak creatures (from the onslaught series)
-lots of mass stat boosting cards, such as daru warchief (soldiers get +1/+2) and glorious anthem (creatures get +1/+1)
the only real weakness, is counter decks and fast creature decks.
another one i use a lot is the elf deck. its your generic super fast mana producing, cheapo elf deck with massive boosts depending on the number of elves in play (which will eventually be quite large) such as timberwatch elf, heedless one and elvish pride.
wellwishers add 1 health for every elf in play, so i will get a massive amount of health, allowing me to be agressive. ive also got kamahl, fist of krosa in there, and that is really good for an elf deck
at one point, i tried making a massive mana producing-fireball/blaze deck, but that was pretty fail
though i havent played in a while, im mainly a collector now

A good combo for fireball/blaze is:
Wirewood Channeler + Pemmin's Aura
Wirewood Channeler allows you to tap for X mana of any color, where X is the number of elves in play.
Pemmin's Aura is an enchant creature for 3UU that says "U: Untap enchanted creature"
As long as you have two elves in play (one of which is the Channeler), then you get infinite mana.
The only issue is having three colors... green, blue, and red. You could always make an infinity/infinity Ivy Elemental though, to keep it at two colors. But then you'd need a method to protect the Ivy Elemental from bounce.

I used to play a lot back in 7th and 8th grade, but I stopped after that. The people I played with moved away and it mattered less after that.

This. I had an awesome goblin deck though. Those little fuckers are fun. I remember my goblin sharpshooters were real good.
Counterspells are alright too, you feel so powerful.
My friend had a sliver deck. GHEYEST non-squirrel deck possible.

If you mean Type 2 then I don't think so either. But it should be legal in Extended, Legacy, or Vintage. It's not insanely powerful or anything.
