A friend just told me about this and, at first, I was skeptical. So I did some googling and OH GOD IT'S TRUUUUUEEE!! :(
I was cautiously optimistic about a Bebop movie but now I just feel kinda empty inside.

It might not be that bad. I mean, it will, but I wouldn't judge it prematurely.

It's always interesting to see a live action from anime adaptation
I don't give big hopes tough....

I am not particularly crazy about this choice, but I can't come up with a better suited actor for the job either.

You're right :( .... I don't really think Keanu would be able to pull off a Spike Spiegel.. But then again who really could? I'm definitely going to at least give it a try, unlike this fucking piece of garbage (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1098327/). Maybe Keanu will pull off a miracle.. Do you think he even watches Cowboy Bebop though?

keanu reaves is right the show has a lot of style, i dont necessarily think hes going to do a bad job.

I remember seeing quoted somewheres that Keanu Reeves is indeed a fan of Cowboy Bebop and anime in general. He seemed to be very optimistic about the project, but meh.
I agree with most of you. While I can't rly see him pulling this role off, who else could?
Maybe it won't be that bad...
*watches Dragonball Z trailer again*
...
*cries*
2009/10 is really GAY

Going to be gay like dbz. Japanese anime movie casts>american anime movie casts. Death note for example.

why oh why do american movie studios buy up the rights to anime movies and then SHIT all over them god first DBZ now this fucking hell
I'm just not going to watch it. Ever. Don't want to ruin the memories of watching a perfectly good anime.

Live action = fail. I have never and will never watch it. I just can't get over the thought of these try-hard faggots pretending to be Anime characters. It especially pisses me off when it's Asians that try to do it. I have nothing against Asians but they simply can't pull off the Anime style look (not that Europeans can for that matter).

Live action = fail.
Not really..
I like death note live action, and it's have a good ratings on new viewer (not the manga/anime fans tough)
Live action has it's own advantage
But yeah, it's a pity that a lot of of them fail
*see db live action trailer - meh

Looks-wise, I think he is the right person for the job.

I've seen quite a few live-action anime remakes that were pretty good.
Most of those were made in Japan though...
I can't think of many American-made live-action anime adaptations that I was impressed with. The last one, i think, was Speed Racer, which I rly enjoyed watching.

No, just no! There are certain thing that shouldn't be uwe boll for one and doing live action versions of cartoons is another.

Well, Spike's demeanor is apathetic and Keanu Reeve's lacks the ability to convey emotion when his acting ...it might work. But it probably won't.
I'm more excited about the line up for the Death Note live action tbqh.

Well, I don't watch that much anime but Cowboy Bebop has always been my favorite. Let's hope Neo can do at least a descent job. Wasn't Spike like 30 though? Keanu Reeves is like 45 years old now :p

Heh. That's exactly what I was thinking. :p

There's an American version coming out? The Japanese live-action movies weren't too bad. The storyline is kinda meh and the cg shinigami take some getting used to, but I enjoyed watching.

Thanks to the miracles of science (plastic surgery lol) Keanu Reeves will probly look like he's 30 forever.

They're pitching the script around, last I heard they had a music guy & producer signed on. I posted an article a month before totse died and there was some more news after. I just hope they don't try to squash the entire series into a movie (or 2, in Japan's case).

Keanu Reeves has killed every movie he was ever in. I hate him. He is some sort of canadian robot. The only thing good he was ever in was the Matrix and that would have been better with the original person they wanted (will smith!) Reeves just sucks.

I think what you mean to say is that it wont be dragon ball, but it certainly cant actually be good.

Im sorry my friend, but the man you are looking for is Tom Cruise. He is a robot sent from the future to kill hollywood. Though I can believe that Reeves is helping, if inadvertently.
