4 or 5 of my friends and I are planning on going to Montreal for a week this Summer. We plan on driving up from Delaware (about eight hours), then staying at a youth hostel in the city. Can anybody offer advice about what to do once we get there?

Any hostel recommendations? http://www.aubergemontreal.com/ That looks to be the best one for value and location, which is all that's really important since we just need a place to sleep.

Also, would it be better to drive or take the Greyhound ($135 round trip, but 4 hours longer)? Our only concern about driving is parking in the city and how expensive that maybe.

Personally, I rather take a train then that damn bus anyday.

Anyways,

I did some reading and found out that live peyote catuses are legal for sale up there. And I found out some guy sells them up in montreal.

But they are not for eating.
Go figure.

Here's the link.

Get drunk, do drugs, go up the mountain and see the view...

St. Sulpice is a cool, popular bar, Kama Sutra is a great strip club (15 dollar lap dances, if I recall). You'll figure it out.

Montreal is home to the most beautiful women in North America. Hands down.

Montreal's fucking awesome, this thread inspired me to road trip there this weekend as long as I can talk friends into it. It's really not a challenge at all to have fun or find something to do in Montreal, just walk around and drink, something will come up.

And one thing I've noticed, but maybe it's just me.... I get in a lot of random fights in Quebec, usually over nothing. Probably 75% of the time I've crossed from Ontario to Quebec, there's been a physical "interaction". A few times, it wasn't even Quebec guys, just random drunks from Ontario who feel like they can do anything cause they're in Quebec...

I don't really see many, but yeah...people like fighting over absolutely nothing here. A lot of the Quebecois guys think they're living The Sopranos or something too, so I think that's probably why.
