I recommend that everyone reads this book. Especially if you suspect you have a mental illness/deficiency of some sort. It may help you reevaluate your sanity or at the very least give you confidence in knowing that there are people alot worse off than you.

How does this book compare to PKD's other stuff?

I loved Valis, man in the high castle plus several others but some of his books (particularly early stuff) have lots of extraneous scifi stuff like, I dunno, the name of a piece of futuristic equipment that doesn't have much to do with anything. I know if I could read through that stuff there would be a story of great worth but it's just distracting sometimes.
