So apparently, I came to the right country (http://www.functionalingredientsmag.com/fimag/articleDisplay.asp?strArticleId=412&strSite=FFNSite). Seriously, Tokyo is filled with randomly (but conveniently) placed vending machines, each laden with a vriety of canned coffees (tasty), energy drinks (genki!), and other various vitamin and nutrient drinks.
Arinamin V is, in my opinion, sorta the kind of the genki drinks, as there are several varieties (such as the ridiculous V&V, which has more caffeine than Red Bull and more B vitamins and other energy nutrients, all packed into a 2 oz. beverage), and the standard Arinamin V is readily available in many vending machines. And if you're not ready for that, Oronamin D is also useful (less caffeine, but a good amount of b vitamins, etc.), and for the less caffeine inclined, there's Oronamin C (no caffeine, but lots of vitamins).
On the whole, most of these drinks taste like Red Bull with crushed up Flintstones vitamins in them - not that I'm complaining. At less than 4 oz. a pop for any of the drinks with caffeine, you're looking at literally 2 or 3 swallows (4, tops) of questionably flavored energy beverage.
Convenient? Yes.
Energy laden? Definitely.
Genki? Hai!
("Genki" is a common Japanese word best translated as "energetic," "healthy," or "of perky spirits")
