I seem to be a little stuck with my music progressing. I usually just improv and write my own little catchy tunes. Although, this has been slowing down recently so I have had the thought to learn some new songs.

Should I keep trying to improv and write my own songs or take a break off of that and learn some songs. If the latter choice, can you give some suggestions? I am into acoustic so I would prefer those type of songs, or even electric songs that would transition well into acoustic. I realized I know too much Zeppelin and Beatles,so I REALLY need some new good guitar songs to get into.

In my experience, it really helps to try and branch out a bit. Find some bands you like that aren't like Zeppelin or the Beatles and learn some of that. It'll give you some perspective and a little bit of diversity in your playing styles.
