So appearently North Korea did another nuke test and this one was bigger than the one back in 2006. I remember in 2006 there was some debate as to weither or not it was actually a successful nuke test(or even really a nuke test at all) but the Russian authorieties supposedly estimated this one at around 20 kilotons which is similar to the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs.

I'm waiting to see North Korea put out of business by force. I don't know if the USA or some other country will do it, but I know it's going to happen.

I'd be more than pleased if Russia or China decided that these niggas is crazy and obliterated them.

I love it how eveytime N Korea pulls shit like this international leaders just wag their finggers and say "Now Kim-jong-cockhead that was BAD, ok? You gonna be a good boy?"

Saddam was sitting around his palace one day lighting farts on fire and the next thing he knew there were 10,000 F-16's over head.

Wonder if they'll act the same way after washington is vaporized?

You really think anyone gives more than a single shit about NK? They don't have any oil, nor enough lettuce to make delicious kimchi for unwashed outsiders.

I'm not the least bit concerned. They pose no more of a threat than Iraq did prior to Bush's invasion.

What I think is interesting is how even Israel considers this test to be "extremely grave" (http://jta.org/news/article/2009/05/25/1005392/north-korea-announces-successful-nuclear-test), yet Israel has a 200+ arsenal of nuclear weapons -- and they have never officially acknowledged its existence.

the good guys are allowed to have nukes, and the bad guys aren't. Who decides between good and bad you ask? The United States of course.

Because Israel isn't run by a batshit insane dictator who spends so much money on its military that his people are starving....?

Yes, he's a dictator, batshit insane, and the North Korean people starve. I wouldn't give my life to liberate them though.

By the way, Israel gets about $3 billion per year from U.S. taxpayers, and was given and/or stole nuclear weapons technology from the U.S., and probably has its tentacles in every level of the U.S. government and industry. My point was why the fuck would they be so concerned about NK testing some 1940's level nuke when they could wipe north Korea off the map.

Let other nations handle their problems. My road has potholes that need repaired.

Don't fucking go there bro! im so not fucking kidding. When I read the story on it they told the time it went off, right about same time we heard that shit. I live in a small/quiet town pretty close to the eastern coast, which allowed the sound to reach us? The story from CNN is called "N. Korea nuclear test reverberates worldwide" http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/05/25/nkorea.nuclear.test.outrage/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

I saw the name and was like....no way it was really a nuke! haha I was trippin out.

Yeah they might have nukes, but they don't have the delivery system to pose a real threat to the US. They are only a threat to places like SK, China, Russia, Japan. They can reach Hawaii maybe but not the continental US.

Because a "1940's level nuke" still has the capability of incinerating well over 150,000 civilians.

We could indeed wipe North Korea off the map. But the US isn't going to strike first.

I dont know the exact distance of NK and US but Shynobl(sp?). . .

Very far from the UK, yet still i had family in Wales who couldnt eat the food grown locally after Shynobl(again sp?) wind carrys the crap in them bombs, how far the bombs can be carried isnt nessesarily the only problem. . .

Though i dont actually believe any will be fired. . .

You raise a good, if obvious, point. But I am concerned with all this trigger happy shit over there, and the fact that Koreans are violent as all get out.
The rest of the world should NOT allow them to have long range weapons of any sort. If only it was as simple. That little gonad would cut sick if anyone told him what to do. Korea's little man syndrome is volatile.

No matter how much lettuce they have, they'd never have enough for Kimchi, which is made out of cabbage ;).

I think foreign aid in general is bullshit, and especially the relationships we have with israel and UK which involves waaaay too much cocksucking for me to be comfortable.

How the fuck would they have their tentacles in every level of US government and industry? Especially since Obama is basically telling them to fuck off from now on.

The biggest issue with NK having a nuke is a fact that they sell hundreds of millions of dollars worth of missles to Iran, Syria, and even more unsavory characters. Osama Bin Laden (if the fuckers even alive) and the extremist networks have more than enough capital to invest a cool billion dollars or so to purchase a small, portable nuclear weapon that could be snuck into the United States and denotated. All of these tests seem basically like advertising.

Fuck your potholes.

Indeed. For me, that's why I am so opposed to Iran and North Korea having nuclear facilities of any kind.

Iran may not be able to produce a nuclear warhead from its facilities, but it can enrich some plutonium and make a dirty bomb or similar device and sell it to whomever.

Oh boy, here we fucking go again. More NK nukes. I say we just take them out. They do, however, have the world's 4th largest army. We are fucking with a somewhat substantial force.

True enough, I forgot to consider this. I'd say there are still no where near making a small and portable nuke(remember they are at 1940s technology still and those nukes were big) but them selling a nuclear weapon or even material of any kind could cause all kinds of nastiness if used with terrorist tactics.

i don't get what your all worried about. most countries north Korea could target have missile defence systems that could easily blow their 50 year old tech clean out of the sky. not to mention enough of their own missiles to return the volley 100 time over. so if north Korea launches anything at anyone they're going to get wiped off the face of the earth.

Landing a nuke above your own soil isn't the smartest idea...

I would say its a very smart idea. after the warhead falls to earth you can recover and reverse engineer it (not to mention free plutonium)

They don't have a reliable delivery system(intercontinental ballistic missile technology still lagging behind) although they could try to hide a bomb in a fishing vessel and detonate it in a port on coastal US, it could go undetected since not that many boats are actually searched before coming to port.

Depends on where and how it's detonated, weather conditions and many more things.
