So, I had an 80GB 6th Gen iPod in my pocket at work. I was lifting a box weighing ~120lbs, and the corner of it was on the back of my iPod. Needless to say there was a crunch, and my iPod no longer worked.

Curiosity got the best of me, and I practically ripped the thing apart. The back cover is bent all around the edges, and the sides of the face are scratched up. The screen, scroll wheel, etc, all are in perfect condition.

I'm wondering what it could fetch me to the right person, or individual part prices.

Thanks.

(Also, I didn't send it back, because I figured it being my fault completely, it wouldn't do anything but waste money for postage.)

i think if you have the warranty your good.

But idk man , i'd pay you like 20 bucks just because i hate shuffle and would have to change the playlist up daily

^^^^^^^^^^^

You do realize it's ripped apart, the HDD doesn't work, just clicks, and that the warranty doesn't cover things other than normal wear and tear, right?

so its basically broken to the point of spare parts?

Idk then , you'd have to get a hold of some random tech junkies. They seem like the only people that would want anything to do with it

The screen would probably be the most valuable part as people drop/sit on their iPods all the time and the screen is relatively fragile.

Hard drive and screen are the most expensive parts of it. :( Is te screen cracked? If not it'd fetch atleast 30$ odd dollars..

motherboard still good witll fetch easyily 20-40$ and the clickwheel 15-30$

battery 5-10$

Screens in perfect condition,
Motherboard too,
Click wheel too,
Battery too,

The HDD is broken, on the inside though, because when I turn it on, there's just a clicking noise coming from it.

Yeah click of death, etc.

You could cheat though, put in there a CF card, with a converter of IDE to ipod ZIF

Or actually maybe my hard drive from my zen could fit. Any picture/model number of the hard drive?

I can check, it's not with me at the moment.

I'm not really looking to fix it. The back and front are pretty fucked up from the screw driver. I figured it would just be better to sell it for parts.:)

Screen (As you can see, the screen works fine even though the thing is ripped apart):

Also, for security reasons, my hard drive is not being sold. (I may have some pictures of my girl on there I don't want to world to see[Back ups], but I can't remember if I do or not, so this is just incase)

For anyone thinking, "Hey, I can get a new hard drive and have myself a new iPod!" Good luck. The sides of the top are all scraped up from the screwdriver, with pieces of metal missing in places, and the sides of the bottom are all bent out of shape. There's no way this thing is going back together, and looking like new.
