One thing that annoyed me about Pride is they would always stop a grappling match once it got to the edge of the ring, have the fighters get up, reassume their positions in the middle of the ring, then continue. That's just stupid, exploitable, and annoying, which is why I think MMA should take place in an octogon, not a ring.

Other than that, Pride was pretty damn brutal with some of the best fighters in the world, good stuff.

This is something that always pisses me off. When I tell people I watch pro wrestling they say "I don't watch that fake shit,I watch UFC". They arent even fucking close to the same thing. It's like saying "I don't like Dodge Rams,I like computer desks".

With pro wrestling it's not fake,it's pre-determined. People do get smashed around and you have to actually take the moves and get hit with the weapons and shit. That's why you see some wrestlers actually sell getting hit with a chair,and some of them pussy out and put their hand up at the last second. Yeah,they do get beat up and smashed,but the outcome of the finish is already pre-determined before hand.

Also,who says you can't watch both? I know I do.

Because MMA there is a point to it, both fighters go out to win a fight and will be competitive about it, I've no interest in a predetermined choreographed soap opera. I lost interest in WWE whenever I was 11. Without characters like Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock it kind of lost its charm and I realized I could give less of a shit about who won.

Yes the moves are real and they get injured, but most of the moves are carried out in a way that they are safe, or at least limit the damage done.

I prefer the brawls that erupt in MMA, the standing games that happen with knees to the face.

Pretend fights? Everyone knows it's a scripted but the moves still require skill and toughness.
Wrestling is much more entertaining than MMA.

I completely respect your defense of and preference toward wrestling but on another tangent I must say that as a guy who has trained for a good part of his life, its rare to find a martial artist that is not a decent person and quite a few that are exceptional people.

However, the very few martial artists that are assholes are serious fucking assholes.

Anyone who has trained would agree.

And, for the record, mma is obviously my preference, but K-1, Pride and actual Thai boxing from Thailand is number 1 for me.

UFC, but I don't mind WWE sometimes. I just know all the rivalries, grudges, and history between fighters in the UFC that makes it more exciting.
