Hey dudes

I recently started thinking about airbrushing. Bought a half decent kit, fucked around a bit and I think I'm going to really enjoy it. I don't really get much time to practice what with work and all but whatever.

With the advice of my tattoo artist, I decided to start out using stencils before going full freehand. Only thing is I'm looking at stencils on eBay and fuck me, it's expensive to buy these things!

Also, I don't know what type of paints to use. My tattoo guy uses Createx but told me it's crap for anything other than textiles. I can forsee myself basically spraying mine and my friends' stuff (for free of course. I ain't a skinflint) which mainly comprise of plastics and metals. If it comes to shirts and stuff, I'll go Createx.

So, basically put, in my current situation, where or how can I grab some cheap stencils and which paints, inks or dyes would you suggest?

Cheers for any help/advice you can offer.

For the stencils, they're easy as shit to make. Cardboard and a Stanley knife.

^Yeah, don't buy your own stencils man! If you want them to be reusable then used wax paper, or for a stiffer stencil you can buy different varieties of plastic stencil sheets which are very durable and also relatively inexpensive. I get mine at Wal-Mart but they can be found at every good craft store. You can make the plans for them in Photoshop or other photo editing software, or if you're so inclined draw them by hand. And once you get good at it you can do multi-layered stencils *orgasms.* And if you really want pre-made stencils, craft shops are a good place to start but they're usually filled with old-lady stuff like flowers and cats and stuff.

But seriously, you've already shelled out for the whole airbrushing kit, no reason to go broke when you can make awesome stencils for next to nothing. I would recommend investing in a decent craft knife, but those run fairly cheap as well.
