I was thinking of doing a nice little shroom growth project in my room, but before I decide if it's really worth the trouble I wanted to ask what the dangers of such a project would be. I guess the main two areas that I'm concerned about are:
a) Material acquisition and legal restrictions and/or tracking trail of substances I would buy to make the growth happen.
b) Harmful chemical impurities that would.. potentially kill me if I ate some harvest? I know that with LSD extraction it is absolutely imperative to follow instructions as impurities that would go down could do serious brain damage. Which is a reason I stay away from relatively complex drug extractions until I gain more knowledge.

a) None, spores are legal to have, except for Georgia(fuuucc-), Idaho(one of the "I" states), California. Other than spores, everything else is ordinary objects.
b) As long as you don't fuck up when they are growing them in the mason jars it'll be good. Usually you'll know before you actually grow them. By the time they are mature enough to fruit, they can fight off other stuff. Bottom line, if you think something is wrong, chuck it.

That's good to hear that they're legal almost everywhere. So you would say when it's legal, it is uncommon for online stores to put you on the "flag list" if you were to purchase some spores? I really don't want a criminal record. And thank you for the link.

There are stores online that sell only spores, so it would be bad for business for them to implicate you in anything.

^ That's a good call brotha.
On the second note, have you ever heard of anyone dying or getting irreversible physical trauma from shrooms being messily or improperly grown that maybe got some poisonous residue precipitation?

You could get some stubborn mould if you're not careful.

I think their is more danger in eating wild shrooms than eating some that you grew on your own. Since the average person isn't a mycologist, but the average person could follow simple directions.
I'd like to grow shrooms sometime, but I think it's too risky since I live at home.

And watch out this kind of mold will turn you into a republican.

^ thats a good guide and i used it the last time i grew shrooms. It worked but the first batch got mold and had to be chucked. I don't think you have to worry about the DEA or anything, there too busy chasing meth, coke, and heron.
THey took about 3 months to grow. If youre room is not well ventilated you will get a strong fungusy smell , that your mom will probably wonder about. I should get off my lazy butt and grow a batch myself but i don't know where to get spores from anymore cuz the place i used to get them closed down.

My mom knows and is fine with it. She's cool like that.

What is that and what effects other than turning me republican would it have on my brain? I couldn't find it when searching for it. There's load of other ugly mold though.
And by the way, I was recommended this growing guidelines for small scale mushie growing: http://www.shroomery.org/10256/PF-Tek-v2 and shroomery is one of the most respected sources.
