Firstly, I said "most", not all. When I wrote that, it was, of course, in jest. I also considered adding Australia and New Zealand to the list, but that would've detracted from it's one-sentence value.

There are no real "countries to avoid", as it all boils down to the individual visiting said country, and how stupid they are. It's very likely a British tourist wouldn't last very long in much of the world, due to their renowned idiocy.

Not counting the various Central African nations that are plagued in civil crisis or without a government(Congo, CAR, Somalia), some countries to be wary of are:

Note that you are allowed to possess 20grams of cannabis and 2grams of cocaine on you, but if you are white they will expect you to pay a fine if even caught with this amount. There was one instance where I had a fare and he asked me to pull up on the highway so he could smoke up (it's legal to do this); sirens come on and the car gets searched, he has far more than 20grams on him so here I am getting dragged into the equation by this cholo pig and demanding I pay him a fine if I didn't want to be arrested as well, although there was no way of me knowing he had more than 20gs on him as I was just the driver who stuck by a don't ask and don't tell policy. To avoid anything further I just paid a fine and went on my way and refused to ever do the same with any other fare when they asked.

The town goes without saying, it is dangerous.

Other than that it's an awesome country for base jumping, most fun I've ever had. A holiday there and living there are 2 completely different lifestyles, it's not that enjoyable when you're actually living day to day there; the breaks to take off base jumping were the highlights of my time spent there. I'd never go back.

I've been to Nigeria. It's a big country. Southern Nigeria is sketchy in its own cool way, but that's why you have guards at your compound/hotel/bar/whatever. Carry plenty of 20 Niara (~$0.14) notes to tip guards, policemen, etc.
