Walking down the street, and i come across a backpack with a macbook pro. I take the sucker home, and boot it up, and there is a password prompt before the loggin. Any suggestions on bypassing this function? Any programs out there? Thanks for the help! :D

i don't know if you want to be able to use the computer or to access the mac profile, but if the former, get ubuntu and overwrite the mac partition with linux, but if the latter, i wouldn't exactly know. download a leopard torrent and install over the current mac filesystem

Why use linux?
Just pirate vista or whatever OS you want. Then if you still want to get all of his personal data run power data recovery.

Because with free and open source software you know that your government isn't spying on you as is suspected of Apple and has been confirmed of Microsoft.

They can't spy on him if he doesn't connect to the internet... I would suggest selling it after you do reinstall a Mac OS. They could find you if you ever did connect to the internet

1. Shutdown your computer and remove all power and plugs.
2. Open your computer case. Here are some safety tips.
3. Carefully remove the CMOS battery for 20 minutes, then replace it. (Sometimes longer)
4. Plug in your computer and start it. Go into the bios by pressing F2, F10 or maybe the delete key. This must be pressed quickly and at the right time or you will have to reboot an try again.
5. Find the restore factory settings option and choose this.
6. Then save and exit.

If you can get your hands on the OS install disks, then you can tell it to boot from disk and use the password utility to change / clear the admin password.

Ok then, thanks so much for the suggestions and help. Im currently downloading Mac os X Leopard, and i assume its just as easy as burning an iso to a disk and throwing it in a mac? If thats not how it works...i wouldn't mind it if you saved me 4 hours and 2 gigs an help me through reformatting it. thanks!

Just read the comments in the torrents, etc. You are one lucky person my friend. FYI I would just reset the password that's it because I would like to see what kind of info is on there. It's a very simple process to get into an apple computer.

It's a MAC. There is no BIOS on a Mac! If I saw that backpack, looked in, and saw a Mac I would've been like FUCK NO and walked away. But then I'm not one for stealing, but even so.... Macs are not for me. Ew.
