Could someone help me identify this vegtable(or fruit)?

I have this plant growing in my backyard, It grows on a vine that's running along the ground. I thought it was a pumpkin plant to start off with but now I suspect it's a honeydew mellon. I was just hoping for some confirmation. :confused:

Yep, looks like a Honeydew melon plant growing a Honeydew melon. When it's eatin-ripe give it a few siffs round the stem of the fruit. If you can't determin anything, cleave it with your handy garden machete and have a look & a smell. If it smells sappy, then it's going to uspset your stomach and ain't a Honeydew melon.

What's a pig melon? It ain't a Paddy Melon plant if that's the same as a pig melon, I can tell you.

Their poisonous, and grow everywhere in W.A.....but i think they might be green with stripes....

cumquats aren't that colour, and resemble mini oranges more than that.

My best bet is a dinosaur egg that has addapted to growing from a plant.
