Something about Obama is way off to me. It always has been.
I just feel like his personality, the one we see in his speeches, appearances, or in public, is a mask. This person is too perfect, urbane, nice, to be real. His family life and his relationship with his wife appear too perfect, this feels like a goddamn reality TV show. Obama is straight out of central casting.
In fact, here's one; do you remember all the black characters in commercials from the past four or five years? They were mostly played by the same guy, you may best remember this guy from the WaMu commercials where he played a bank teller dealing with old white men.
The actor in those commercials even vaguely resembles Obama, and they have the same kind of outward character; on top of things, intelligent, reasonable. The straight man to all the old white bankers. And doesn't that ring a bell, espiecally because WaMu was one of the banks that failed.
But there it is, Obama doesn't strike me as real, the look in his eyes when he speaks to people, it reeks of megalomania, like he is a King speaking to his subjects. Those comparisons may sound naive, but I feel its much more extreme in Obama's case, then the normal packaging and image mongering of a President. There is something Evil to this man, and it lurks beneath the bright facade and big goofy smile.
There could be long held identity issues with this guy. His racial background plus the diverse locales he was raised in, that would be a lot for a kid to handle. I had a similar situation, but not so pronounced, switching schools a lot, and I definitely learned to make masks to wear around different people. Why would Obama be different? How hard would it be on your identity if you were the only one of your race in an area, like when he was growing up in Hawaii?
I'm probably just paranoid, and very stoned, but is anyone else seeing this too? This man just isn't real to me, even moreso than a politician or big shot.
