Right, so when I record my guitar in fruity loops (guitar->FX box->amp->computer line-in), the soundquality sucks. It sounds waaaaay too noisy. Yeah, it's supposed to sound distorted, but it doesn't really have a guitar sound anymore, it sounds too much like noise with a melody.

You guys have any tips to improve the soundquality and to make it sound like an actual guitar?

Record it from a tube amp/any amp that has RCA outs on it.
Get a cable that is RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack (mic input on computer).

I have a nice new one for sale actually. In the trading pit- zokmart.

If you're not totally against it I would recommend virtual amp technology.

Or mic your amp. But the first response is probably where it's at.

Lower the wattage on your amp?

Lower line-in volume?

Increase sound quality of the recording to 24-bits of whatever the max is (96kHz I think).

Or try playing around with the values. I've never had a problem with mine, but lowering the wattage helps with feedback immensely.

No, course I'm not. Really openminded when it comes to music. ;)
What software would you suggest?

@ Neverender: thanks for the advice, but I don't think my budget would appreciate a tube amp right now... :p

@ Rykoshet: yeah, tried to lower the distortion, volume and wattage. However, to no result... :(

@ Rosetta: Yeah, I could try that one.

It doesn't have to be a tube. ANY amp as long as it has RCA out. It doesnt even gotta be a guitar amp. You can use a PA head or whatever.

Record something else on your Line-In jack to see if it's just a piece of shit.

Then there must be a feedback knob if it's not a tube amp. Or some way to access it, no?

Also, tube amps aren't expensive. I've got a VOX AD50VT that's got a nice tube sound and it's like 130.

EDIT: I don't mean a knob knob, just a setting. For me I hold tap and bypass and that lets me play with the feedback.

Well, I solved the problem. I have a PODxt, I didn't know that it could serve as an external soundcard. When I connect it with usb, plug in the guitar and play with some windows-settings, I can record in the DAW as well.

Thanks for the help anyways, people.
