So I just noticed there's a marijuana plant growing in my front garden.

Yeah, like the title says. Thing is: nor I, nor my parents smoke weed (hell, they're anti-weed zealots). It's about 35-40 cm in height now, and I'm thinking of taking it inside and drying it. If I don't smoke it, I have some friends who will. But, since this would be my own little product, I'll probably smoke it.

As I said, it's about 35-40 cm high (no pun intended). Can I dry it now? Any tips on drying? Also, is there a possibility of this being another plant that looks like cannabis really REALLY bad?

first off, yes it could be something else, post a pic of it, second off, its not the actual plant you smoke, its the buds of the plant you smoke, it doesnt matter how tall the plant is, just if it has buds on it.

Yeah, I'd like to let it grow. But like I stated, my parents will eradicate it as soon as they discover it. And since it's standing there by itself with almost no other plants around it, it really sticks out. I don't think there are any buds on it yet though. But I guessed the leaves would hold a certain amount of THC too. So it would probably be a better idea to replant it somewhere else (we have a forest behind our house, and it's our property) and let it grow for a while? I'll try to get some pictures to make sure it's actually weed.

Mmm, I just found out that hempseeds are frequently used in birdseed for exotic birds. And since we have a birdcage with all kinds of tropical birds, that would make sense. However, if I remember correctly, hemp isn't that great to smoke because it doesn't hold a lot of thc and is quite damaging to the lungs (not that normal smoke is harmless, but you know what I mean).

Also, is there a way to find out if the plant is male or female?

But, in all honesty, if its that big and doesnt reek like pot or hove the starting of buds on it, its more than likely a male. Thats the only way to tell if its male or female

If you look at one of the leaves, look at the bottom of the leaf where it meats the stem, and you should be able to see little buds starting to grow on it, with any luck.

Also, rabbits could have eaten the plants from your neigbors and then shit em out where the plant is, someone coulda dropped there seeds there when they were deseading there pot, birds, theres really endless amounts of ways it could have gotten there.

It could still be a female, it's still pretty young to be flowering yet, will be later on in the season when the daylight hours shorten that they flower, the male ones are like little 'pods' and the females nice bunches of 'hairy' pistils.

It'll be really tough to tell the sex of it, since you can't tell 100% for sure until it starts flowering (and, if it gets pollen sacks on it, it's a male and if not, it's a female). I've seen videos about early detection of the sex of a marijuana plant, but it's never 100% so it's best to just wait. And, even if it is male you'll still get some buds to smoke it's just that, most of the plants metabolism will be used to create seeds and pollen and not so much on the cannaboid content of the bud.

and I believe it could still be early in the season to tell the plants sex. When it does show it's sex however you can tell by looking at the base of the stems coming out of the main stem.

The male plant will have small sacs and the female plant will have white pistils.

If you decide to let the plant mature I would suggest moving it and doing some research on growing and curing bud.

If it was indica it wouldnt get much more than a foot high before budding, and it would be very dark green and look almost like a christmas tree. And all in all it prob wouldnt get much bigger than 2 to 2 and a half feet

Sativa looks more like a normal plant. Kind of gangly and not really to strange lookin. Youd have to be looking for it where as with indica the dark green thick bush "christams tree" shape in almost impossible to miss.

I could see how you could mistake it for indica though with the fat leaves.

I once had a strain of purple indica that i was growing in the woods near my house. When i say woods, i mean like a very small strip of wood behind my neigborhood that was actually a frisby golf course.

They were about a foot tall when they started budding. And by the time they were about a foot and a half tall, they had amazing purple crystal buds on them.

So one day me and my buddy went out to look at them. We were looking at them when i looked up and saw two people standing on the path looking at us.

So i said "this isnt where we parked the car" (seriously, i know that sounds hard to believe) and we walked off through the woods.

So they ended up calling the cops and the DEA was back in the woods erradicating what they said was "wild hemp".

We went back about two weeks later to find that our plants had been turned over. It was horrible.

What was funny was that i actually had two plots where i had stuff growing. I had a second plot about fifteen feet away from where the ones that were found were. They didnt find those.

But due to the high activity of policeand the DEA we decided to just leave em and let em die. Not worth jail time over!

Umm that plant looks to be about a foot tall man. The leaves are very broad like indica. it's not stretching like sativa. .... Indica grows more than a foot lol. Unless you plant it in like.. .July or some shit. Just because your plants didn't get tall doesn't mean indica doesn't. I'm not saying it gets like 20 feet, but i've had some 5 footer indica. That's definitely NOT pure sativa. It's most likely a hybrid with mostly indica tendencies due to the height/leaf shape.

The way to avoid the detection is check on your shit at night. I can't believe you just let the others die, you coulda been in and out w/backpacks and flashlights in a few minutes depending on how many plants you had. but that's you, not me.. I prefer to harvest everything I work so hard for.
