spread the weed on the paper
make sure theres no stems or if there are stems roll over the stem but dont push down on the rolling paper/blunt or else the stem will go thru
then grab hot dog style and grab at both ends and start like rolling it i guess more like pressing it against the other half and rolling and kind of unrolling and rolling till it gets tighter idk i taught myself hard to explain

Backrolling for the win.

You flip the paper so the glue is flat against your thumbs, and then roll it like that. You now have the glue inside the joint though, so you have to lick it "through" the paper. Make sure it's all stuck and then carefully tear/burn off the excess paper. Voila, you're smoking half as much paper...

Thanks for this advice with the dollar bill! I, like you, am one of those people... I've tried a gazillion times but they always end up so shitty compared to everyone elses... maybe it's because I'm already blazed as fuck everytime I try :)

And with the bill it is so fucking easy. MY problem was alway in that I couldn't get the end of the paper to tuck under the other end. With a bill it does it as you naturally roll. No muss, no fuss. As good as a rolling machine - which works on the same principle, BRW...

No offense guys, but I personally wouldn't want a dirty dollar bill all over my joint. I've never used the dollar bill method, but I would at least try to use a cleaner piece of paper in the same shape as a dollar if I did try it. Yes, this could be considered overkill, but money is fucking nasty. The only piece of paper I can think of that has more germs than bills is used toilet paper. But hey, maybe you'll pick up some residual coke on the paper, to each his own.

OP, I must inform you that the superior option is a cigarette rolling machine. A machine will give you the perfect joint with zero experience, and yes, I do mean perfect. They're cheap, and unlike bongs "for tobacco", they're a legitimate tobacco accessory. I've never been questioned about my machine, but even if I was, I would calmly explain to the officer that I roll my own cigarettes. If you're super-paranoid, you could get a bag of tobacco to back this statement up.

However, assuming you want to roll by hand for whatever reason, get a pack of 1.5 papers. Bigger papers are much easier to hand roll with.

1. Fold your paper in half, but not quite equally. The crease should be closer to the bottom of the paper, leaving space between the gummed edge and bottom end of the paper when it's folded in half. (gummed edge goes on top of course)
2. De-stem and de-seed bud.
3. Put a line of broken up herb into the "pocket" of paper you previously made by folding the paper in half.
4. Roll the herb back and forth in the pocket a few times, just to get it packed a little bit nicer.
5. Lay soon-to-be-joint on flat surface.
6. Press the top of the pocket (bottom edge of paper) down with index fingers. Move index fingers down closer to the pocket (on the outside of the pocket of course) and push them toward the herb as you use your thumbs to roll the pocket of herb towards the gummed edge. Remember to start rolling in the middle and work your way out.
7. Keep rolling until just gummed edge is left.
8. Lick edge (don't slobber though) and press down to seal.
9. Optional: Twist paper at one or both ends. Cut/tear off the twist to get a nice rounded end to inhale from. Alternatively, you could just pack the hell out of the joint, but twisting and snipping tends to work better.

There you have it, a nice doobie.

I used that exact method to roll the first joint I ever smoked, it works like a charm. Also, if I could do it with no previous rolling experience, I know you can too.

i got good at rolling up by rolling cigarettes for a family member of mine. seriously just buy a big ass can of rolling tobacco there like the price of a pack of cigarettes but you get like 100 cigarettes ( i just pulled that number out of my ass so dont expect that many)

I know this thread is old but its got good information in it and i'd like to add.... so bear with me mods sorry for "bumping" an old thread




Using too many descriptions into what to do kind of clogs the mind when trying to learn , its fairly simple ....


1. Spread bud evenly onto a folded paper
2. Grab by both ends and press your thumbs gently across the paper as you roll it back and forth. This will pack the weed in a well rounded shape
3. Have the end of the paper as close as possible to the bud and press your thumbs gently across the joint and roll it over , it should catch and from there just roll it up trying to press down any loose spots.
4. Lick paper and roll over and seal


Another method would be

1. spread bud evenly onto folded paper
2. lay it on a flat surface and push the paper back until its tight against the weed
3. Instead of rolling it just flip the thing over and then push it back to tighten , from there you can either keep flipping it and making sure its tight or you can pick it up and roll it with your hands from there

There are 1001 ways to roll a joint. The truth is you'll have to find what works best for you, which means you need to just read a few guides...then make joint after joint after joint...


they will eventually get good enough to where you're friends prefer it when YOU roll...thus giving you more practice and launching you into the joint-rolling-hall-of-fame.
