You're going to have to set up some values here. What constitutes new versus old? Moreover, why is it an either/or option?

This. But I voted old anyway. Maybe it's left to your own perception.

By Default for me older is better. This new generation is lame.

Pretty vague poll, but old is the correct answer.

Old if it's good, new if it's good. I like to listen to Alternative, and I'm getting pissed off at people trying to write off some of this pussy Cobra Starship shit as Rock, alternative or otherwise.

I went with old, beacuse it is old now. When I first heard it, it was new then.

Probably about a quarter of my music collection is "old". By old I mean pre 1990 though...I'm sure people older than me will have a different meaning!

I define old as before 1990. The the new stuff is definitly better. People just aren't looking hard enough.

It's all good. If you don't listen to something of everything, you're just limiting yourself and missing out.

really this is a decent question but kinda hard without specifications

in my case i voted old, because all my favourite bands have released some really really really shitty albums as of recently, disturbed, mudvayne, bullet4mv hell even slipknots newest album doesnt even rank anywhere near there others. but there apart from old bands releasing new stuff there is a lot of new bands releasing new albums that i really like, i released a thread about have a nice life being god aweful but i kinda like them now, the bled swept me off my feet when i first heard them and all indie rock is good because of its freshness

I consider old to be pre 1940s really, but that's mainly because a lot of what I hear around the house is either 1700s or my war era music.

You can't just pick "new" or "old". Its a mix. Some stuff from bands I listen to were released in 2009, while some stuff I listen to is from the 90's, 80's, 70's, or even 40's.

Newer music. Say what you will, but I think it's a lot more diverse, largely due to the internet.

New is epic owned in this thread. Lulz!

This new generation is lame.

This.

Most of my favorite genres died anyway. 1999, the day music died for me. :death:
