Ok so i got a 6 cell maglite. Its pretty sweet and its bright and it can be used as a weapon if necesary.

Now my problem is this: how to carry it for easy acess but also have it secured to me in case i am running so it doesnt bounce around. The maglite-provided "holster" is no good at all for this.

http://www.maglite.com/product_acc.asp?id=092587435987435&plc=DCELL&psc=6DCELL this is it

So what other product/holster can i use to keep my mag stable on my belt?

Prince Albert it.

Drill and tap the base for a lanyard ring, and then strap it to your leg. Use velcro instead of a ribbon.

Also, a few wraps of tape around the toggle switch will keep the little rubber cap from vanishing. I suggest electrical tape, as it is the most flexible.

Or get a smaller, brighter light. So you can blind them instead of beating their brains out. Clubs are so 10,000BC.

This, very much, this. Go to CPF for reviews, you can search the site without being a member.

Let me get you started:

I would reccomend the Eagle Tac T100C2 or the T20C2 if you have some money, I have a P100C2. Surefire is popular among police, military, firefighters, and EMTs although they're more expensive.

the reason i love my 6 cell mag is becuase it has a long range, and it is bright at that range. So i would need a light with range and brightness, and i need a holster for it that will hold it in while i am running around and jumping. money is not an issue

A 6D Mag puts out about 160 lumens.

The Eagle Tac T20C2 has a 300 lumen output, with an LED which will never burn out or break.

Behold, the most powerful flashlight available that you would be able to afford and carry comfortably, and it runs on AA batteries. Max output of 630 lumens and multiple lower but still powerful modes. It comes with a shoulder strap:

If you only click on one of my links, that is it.

The Night Vision Company sells a Surefire Nitrilon with a 256 lumen drop in lamp assembly for around $80.

I got a bicycle inner tube & slipped that over the torch.
It gave a better grip & covers the little rubber button too.

In real life I don't really like the torches, theres plenty of things that are wrong with them.
If you drop them on their end the spring compresses & the batterys move.
The other end, it bashes the carbon rod in the batterys thru the battery. Dislodges it.

Its only got one light.

Hell if its a Police torch it should have a LED light & a red 'blood light', a laser pointer, several different coloured lights (LEDS) so you can make out seperate officers at a distance, a infared LED light & a UV LED light & a flashing warning light as well.
A battery condition indicator, a socket for charging its Nicads, & maybe a siren of some sort.
