I've just been wondering as its always something I've been interested in.. and lately my life has been shit, so I wouldn't mind getting back into shape and doing something with my life.
Now obviously there is the Navy, Airforce and Army... but is there anything for people that really want to dedicate their entire life to this sort of proffesion? (I am completely aware many people do that in the navy, airforce and army by the way..)
Like is there a equivalent of the Marines in australia or anything similar? I hope you guys get the general idea of what I'm getting at.. I'm not very good with words.
Thanks for any advice.

There isn't a separate entity like the marines, but you can be a rifleman in the army. There's the SASR which is about as hard to get into as navy SEALs or Delta force.
I've heard the Wallaby Corps are pretty elite, why not try out for that?

4RAR is the commando unit in the Army, Uhh, probably the Divers in the Navy and there's no 'elite' in the Air Force per se, but that's probably fighter pilots anyway.
You can go for direct entry into all of those positions, as long as you pass medicals/ education requirements. Oh yeah and SASR, no idea how you get into that.
You really can go far with any job, I mean, 20 or so years in any officer position and you'll be nearing a General rank.

You'll have to be in the regular army for a while then apply for seletion to join the SASR. Also if you're Australian you can apply for any of the British forces including the Royal Marines.

Most of the people who want to join the SASR are 15-16 years old.
