click on the ad and buy the product.

They'll be so suprised that someone actually got fooled into buying their wares that they (along with all their ads) will exploded in a fantastic array of colours.

problem solved.

OR you can try your luck with lavasoft adaware; but as everyone here will agree the first solution is much more realiable.

boot the computer in safemode and try adaware, your AV and spybot search and destroy seperately

if that doesn't work, it's safe to say you need to reformat.

A buddy of mine pointed me toward superantispyware (google it).

I don't think it'll get rid of anything really deep rooted but it's worth a shot. Worked for me anyway.

Download Avira or Avast! antivirus and do a boot scan of your hard drive. I recommend Avast! but I hear Avira is good too. Get rid of Norton it's a piece of shit. Also download Advanced System Care 3 or Advanced Windows Care 2 (if you can find it, I personally like the older version better).

Run an antivirus program first. Then install the Adblock Plus and NoScript plugins for mozilla. Problem solved.

You're probably too stupid to fix your own computer. Take it to Office Depot and cough up $150 for a Diagnose and Repair service. There are probably a dozen of us in Tech Depot's staff of 200+ who won't break your shit. You'll probably get the computer back in a week. Have fun.

Lay off him people, it isn't that much of a stupid question. Could be worse... :D

Anyway, the suggestions given already are all good. Get SUPERantispyware, Ad-Aware and a decent antivirus like Avira. Let all three do a complete scan one after another and it should get rid of the problem.

And Norton really does suck. Get rid of it and use something like AVG or Avira, both of which are free.
