When I got my beloved Mr Snuggles the Salmon Pink Bird Eater, he had a mere 2.5 inch leg span, since I got him, however, it has increased to 4 inches. When I first got him, he was on a 3 large cricket per week diet, and that's been going fine, he'd kill one right away and leave the others for later. But last night I noticed when I put the little hoppers in there with him he killed all 3 in rapid succession. I know due to his growth his diet will have to increase considerably, but I need to know how much would be suitable. Since his size has almost doubled, I was considering either putting 6 crickets in his cage at a time or putting 3 in there twice a week, does this sound reasonable to you guys or are there other suggestions?

Now, I know nothing about spiders, but the 3 twice a week sounds reasonable, I think you might just want to try both methods to see what works.

That's about what I was thinking when I first posted this thread.

I'd feed him 3 twice a week, if you feed him all six at once there's more of a chance one of them finds a spot to hide in and not get eaten right away. This can cause a problem if the little bugger decides to pop back out when the spider is molting.
Also, too many insects in the terrarium at once can kind of confuse the spider, and only the largest of my spiders can hold on to 6 crickets at once without dropping the food.

I've been busy working and trying to save a couple of tiny birds, sorry for my absence.
