I love how good editing and production can make any song work very very well.
For example, the greatest skate video ever (RDS/FSU/2k2) makes use of so many good songs
r-oCvmYx8Iw
Mike Hastie skating to Living on Video. :D its awesome
iUlcoF9StaU&
Ryan Smith skating to Zombie Nation and Paradise City (this one is my favourite)
NtJj97IrxZQ
Rob "Sluggo" Boyce skating to Backstreet's Back (lolol)
Take a look, very good stuff.

Some of the bands I listen to I first heard them in skate videos. The Prodigy - Breathe during Rune Glifberg in Sorry (Flip) and then the first time I heard Slayer was South Of Heaven in a Zero skate video. Oh yea, then King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man in Thats Life (Foundation). That's all I can think of right now, but I know there's a ton more. Sometes the music can make the skating even more epic.

First one that came to my mind was Jason Dill skating to Polyethylene by radio head in Alien Workshop's photosynthesis (yea, it's been a while since I've seen a new skate video).

^ haha alien work shop has some good skate video. Although it seems the whole idea of skate videos have gone the way of the VHS. everythings on youtube now, which means less production value :(

It's sad because I would much rather buy skate vids then watch em on YouTube, but sadly most people don't agree. But yea, another song came to my mind. Tom Petty in Sorry, song Venus in Furs - The Velvet Underground. It wasn't until a couple years til I realized who it was.

No one's mentioned the definitive. Jason Lee in Video Days, the song was "The Knife Song" by Milk.
