I'm starting a grow. I'll have 3 plants under 324 watts of CFL. The strain is Jock Horror(Skunk, Haze, Northern Lights) from Nirvana Seeds.

I can't post this under my normal account(I use it widely). But, I will try to keep this up to date.

This is my setup, the jiffy pots in there are some bag seed. A partner wanted to germ them for some stupid reason, but the JH will be in the pots by tomorrow.

Sorry for the elongated delay. We had some issues with our location, we moved and I have just forgotten to update until today. We lost 3 plants, luckily we germ'd an extra seed and gave it to a friend. We moved to his place, and we just took two cuttings the other day of our Jock Horror. So, the short one you will see is our baby, the JH, the taller ones are just bag seed. Here to our baby being female. :thumbsup:

My friend found a HPS system, ballast and all for $100, good shit(very serious as well). We put it in and the whole floor got hot as fuck. So we decided to switch back to the CFL and we added more bulbs. We are going to use the HPS for flowering. We just put them into flowering a few days ago, and our cuttings are in some water rooting.

This was the initial use of the HPS. The light fucked the picture up.

Now all of the CFLs, we have 6 42 Watt 2700k and 11(12th got lost some how) 23 Watt 6500k(we combined our bulbs).

Should be ready to harvest in 10-11 weeks. I can't wait:).

We are going to be moving into a house, hopefully with a basement. Then we'll probably scale it up. Not for sale though.

Just thought I would give you a few tips. As your plants get a little taller, get you some regular fluorescents that are about 3 ft long that hang in the top of garage's. And stand them up vertically beside your plants in a circular fashion. I have had great success doing this. You can even buy bulbs that are specifically made for the vegetative cycle of plants.

It's actually called Jock Horror.

We switched out the CFLs for our 1000w HPS, man is it hot. We got pretty lucky, we only had one male. And, the one seed we had with good genetics is female. The JH hasn't flowered much yet, but the 2 mid plants have started, as you'll see.

The pictures might look a little weird, I had to hold it a certain way for the picture not to be fucked up.

They've been in flower for almost 4 weeks now.

I should have some white rhino coming in any day now from nirvana. I have one mid plant growing just to test out my little setup.

It would normally be early, but I think I'm gonna flower it just to be done with it.

The mids are doing very well, probably 3-5 weeks more. I swear one of them smells exactly like some kush I smoked one time. The Jock Horror is a slow starter, I think in about 2 weeks or so she'll puff right the fuck up. We are about to start introducing molasses to the ferts. We also had to switch back to the CFLs.

Those are 2 weeks away from harvest? Not saying you did a bad job, the color of the leafs look great with the nice dark green, but the plants themselves are extremely skinny and there's not much bud on them.





My main question for growing hydro is how much will it jack your electricity bill up? That's a big concern for me in growing, but recently I did order some very high quality seeds and a few hydro self watering buckets, and some good fertilizer.

Plants grow quicker under hydro, while hydro kit doesn't use that much electricity compared to grow lights, so it'll probably end up decreasing your electricity bill for every unit of plant material output.

everything in my current hydro set up is minimal house current, standard 125 watt or so for the heaters pumps etc.
the lights are always your biggest deal..and even then if you're not talking about a bank of lights/multiple table setup its seriously not that big a deal.
look at it this way, standard space heaters a 1500 watt, that's 1.5 lights each.

It doesn't look like you LST'd very much, but you have some nice buds growing there.

Getting better. I think I may extend the harvest date. I'll see, the nute burn slowed the bud production so I may let it go 'till 2 weeks from Saturday. I'll keep it updated every week.

ate: Temps are fine, mostly ph problems and nute burn. Temps are between 78-82 through out the day. This is a different grow than the one at the begining of the thread, that one was sabotaged. And the other bud shots before these were from a friends place. The retard cut them down way way too early. Veg was like 1.5 months under 200w - 300w of CFLs. I didn't do the vegging.


niggar: I think just the lights cost like $5-10 per month.

BTW: there are shadows because I had to use the flash on the macros and the camera lens is pretty big, and I have no tripod.
