So I read up a little on 金閣寺 incense (a particular incense exclusively from Kyoto's Golden Pavilion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Pavilion)) and found this (http://www.japanincense.com/sh0265.html), a site where you could buy it. It's currently sold out, but interestingly, they list the main ingredient, Sandalwood (also, if I'm not mistaken, cinnamon(?) is involved, though not listed). It's made by Shoyeido, a Japanese company, but I suspect that other than the aforementioned site, this incense is probably difficult to purchase via internet. If I make it to kyoto (which I definitely hope to), I will but a solid decade's supply of this stuff, as it is by far my favorite.
Interestingly, there's also a specific incense for the Silver pavilion, though I have not had a chance to try it out. If I get to Kyoto, I'll do that, for sure.
Just wanted to put that out there
