It's amazing they found that "computer" useful for anything in space.

Wow its not even remotely complex. No concurrency no modern standards, its no wonder people say "I don't believe we had the technology"...

And that's basically still true at NASA today. They still can't find the money to update their code base to the metric unit system. This is even after that exact problem was blamed in two investigations into the loss of two satellites in 1999. The cost of those two satellites was nearly a billion dollars or 3 times the cost to bring their code up to the software scientific standard...
