Chaining Tor and socks?

Anyone have a good way to chain TOR with socks via firefox? I tried setting firefox up with TOR and then running firefox through freecap but firefox always crashes when trying this. Same problem happens with IE and Opera.

If anyone could write a small guide for setting up a good proxy chain, or enhancing anonymity when using Tor (Besides MAC spoofing) it would be appreciated.

Not sure it's what you're looking for, but I use Torbutton with Firefox. Since it tries to anonymise non-Tor browsing, I disable it when I'm not using Tor.

Use NoScript to block all javascript and flash that you don't absolutely need to prevent your IP address leaking out.

Tor is in-fact chained, If you really need some good anonymity, look up an anonymous vpn service, and use both. Then even if tor fails to provide anonymity, the vpn is another layer of defence.
