i just started lifting a few months ago and i've been using an old straight bar with the cement weights in the plastic shells for hang cleans, bent over row, and whatever else i thought it suitable for at the time.
now during my routine today i dropped it.... and well, look at the thread title again :( it sucks...
SO NOW: im looking for a new bar and some bumper plates to go with it...
anybody know any sites i could order off of?

If you're looking for bumper plates this place sells them at the cheapest price on the net, period.

This place is really good as well. I bought a York bar off of them, great service.

Do it again but this time make sure a bunch of your friends and hot chicks are in the room so they can see what a badass powerlifter you are.

Also check craigslist, lots of people buy fancy equipment they never end up using. And weights are not one of those things that matters if they are used (there just big fucking peaces of metal :)), as long as your can track down a real "Olympic bar" and its not rusted as shit, you're in good shape!

We had a saying, in the powerlift class, at St. John's...
"If the bar ain't bendin', You're just pretendin'."
Anyway-- Sorry to hear about your equipment failure, but, should be easy and cheap enough to replace. Good luck.
