Basically I have a fairly varied workout routine but I'm not doing many exercises that target my back. Also the only equipment I have to work with are some old dumb bells :(. If anyone can recommend a few that I can add to my routine I would appreciate it.

Tape/sew them to the back of your head and do hyperextensions.

Do you have a pull up bar?

how heavy are the dumbbells?
you could try doing Bent over rows, or single arm rows with them, and that should work your upper back, lats and rhomboids...
i'd say check out http://www.exrx.net/Lists/ExList/BackWt.html
they have exercises for each muscle group, and also show you how to do it.
And also try getting a pullup bar like the previous poster said, it will work wonders.
Hope this helps

Pullups, lots of them. You don't even need equipment. Just find a treebranch or a telephone pole or something.

Pullups will do more than anything for it. Also, deadlift. Either with the dumbbells or find something heavy to deadlift, and use proper form. Lots of examples on how to deadlift.
Pullup and deadlift vids can be found on crossfit's main site. NOT advertising crossfit, but their videos are quite nice.

Thanks for the replies people, I'll look into getting myself a pull up bar. In the mean time I think I'll try some deadlifts.

^^ Yes deadlifts! ^^
Squats may be the king of lifts, but deadlifts are defiantly the prime minister.

I HIGHLY recommend the IronGym. This thing is simple yet very effective.
FEEL THE BURN!! www.getirongym.com
Helps me a lot with my ab work, deep pushups, though dips are weak on it as you only have about 4in. between your ass and the floor. Good investment nonetheless.

flap dunbels keeping armsstraight like wings. hold them above you whilst sitting down and leaning back slightly > then bring them down as if stuck together in a line into your chest, return up slowly. pullups. pressups by try viariations such as hands infront your head, behing, hands wide apart, close toghter, hands pointing in/out/down.
