Cologne, mainly. The last cologne I wore, and actually the only cologne I've ever worn, was fucking victoria secret's very sexy for men, that my ex girlfriend bought me when we were dating. All cologne smells the same to me generally, so I'm not picky...but then I'm also not good at picking out a cologne.
Also, a hair gel or spray or something that can style my hair without losing it's strength or making shit all crispy and sticky. I've got literally nothing and my hair looks like frizzy crap all the time. I use tresseme conditioner, which seems to do nothing for it.
Help?

well what do you wanna smell like? you could go for a fruity cologne like Calvin Klein, or a musky cologne like Phat Farm.
As for your hair try redkin styling gel. works for me man

Armani Code smells like you think Armani would smell, Cool Water (& it's variations) has a real "clean" smell to it, Diesel smells different on everyone, drove previous girls crazy. Just go to the perfumery in Belk or somewhere and smell around, ask attractive women around the area, good opporunity, cologne shopping...

Sweat, it's what real men smell like... FAG!
Ok but really, you should just go to a macys or whatever and bring a girl friend or two with you, remember your not trying to smell good for yourself.
Then after getting their opinions, spray some of the recommended crap on your arm and have them smell it, the reason for this is that every persons body sweats a kind of unique chemical blend that is usually undetectable to you but can react favorably or negatively with the cologne.
You'll be raken in BZ's in no time!

Cool Water cologne, one of my favorites out there. Or if you're cheap, buy some Axe Phoenix body spray, but please for the love of God: use it sparingly.
As for hair gel, etc. Real men shave their heads! RAWR!

Their hair gel is flake free. (It REALLY is.)
It's alcohol free, so it won't dry you out.
It's relatively cheap -- I think costcutters carries most of their products, usually on sale.
It's the best stuff I've run into for daily use, by far.

I have three standards that do wonders.
PS Fine cologne, by paul sabastian.
-this one has a unique smell. Its not too musky, not too sweet. Its its own man. Everytime I wear it I feel more people ask what is or seem to step in closer for another smell. I give it a thumbs up
Euphoria, by calvin klein
-this is a great winter cologne, and always seems to smell fresh. I would recommend the aftershave even more, because I love putting it on after I shave, it feels smooth and smells great.
Straight up Old Spice
-this is a classic, and although may seem to fall among the ranks of axe and other bullshit, it smells so good. I can't get enough of it. This one gets me lots of compliments too, its a warm familiar smell. Can't go wrong with this one for normal days.
