That's right, festival season is coming up in a few months (okay, more like 5 or so), and I can't wait. I'm heading to Camp Bisco, Gathering of the Vibes, and Up North...anyone else living the festie life this summer?

I used to go to the CMJ festival and SXSW every year for about 4 years (well, basically when I was in college and could go for free). Now that I'm in Singapore, the only worthwhile festival they have is the Mosaic festival, and it's pretty ridiculously expensive, so I only go to a few shows.

Camp Bisco

I hate you . I've wanted to go for years, none of my friends will make the commute with me though.

I'll probably end up going to Rothbury. I can't wait for the lineup to be announced. Last year they had secret shows in the woods where crazy shit like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0fdVdurchA&feature=related) was going on at any given time. And STS9 played the best set I've ever heard by them.

And depending on the lineup I'll probably end up going to at least one day of Lollapalooza. It's only a train ride away.

And if somehow through all this I still have money, I might hit up Summer Camp (http://www.summercampfestival.com/2009/) with my brother and his friends.

Same here. I was born 3 decades too late :(

I wanted to go to Wacken but it sold out too quickly  so I'm probably just gonna go to Bloodstock Open Air or something.

Just got a phone call from my brother, he managed to secure me Phish tickets at Alpine Valley. He said they had 4 computers working on it, tickets went on sale at 10 and all 35,000 were gone by 10:19.

Fuckin' pumped :D

You guys are damn lucky; I tried yesterday and today to get my tickets to either Jones Beach or Mansfield, MA...had three laptops going at it and I kept calling, I even called before 10:00...still didn't get anything. The thing that blows is that I had the tickets, both days, on hold and ready to check out when the damn server failed. Fucking bummer, I was looking forward to those shows. :(

All Good, 10,000 Lakes, Summercamp, Wakarusa, Up North, Mountain Jam, Camp Bisco, Gathering Of The Vibes are all good festivals to check out if you're into Rothbury and Bonnaroo.

^^ It's official, just purchased my weekend ticket :)

I'm really looking forward to seeing Elliot Lipp collaborate with members of The Pnuma Trio. And Shpongle  There's enough jamtronica on that lineup to keep the late night scene bumpin' till sunrise. Can't wait for String Cheese either. My only hope is that I return home with a functioning brain. I fear part of it may leak out my ear and be forever a resident of Sherwood forest.

Whatever, it'll be worth it :)

I've been thinkin' of going to All Good. To see Buckethead.

I am struggling to get secured for Summer Camp, three nights of moe. and Umphreys, Les Claypool, and Buckethead, plus many other epic festie regulars. Though Allgood offers me a second chance, I hear that the crowd there is a little rough around the edges sometimes... though I am shooting for both Summer Camp and Allgood. Moe.down is going on again this year too and I can't wait to see that line up, but I fear that I'll be having to choose between phish or moe.down... oh well, atleast there are some really good options this season.

Too big, too many people, and too expensive.

I'll wait for a tour that hits a smaller venue.

I think I'm gonna fly up to Chicago for Lollapalooza this year, to catch Jane's Addction and Tool(for the fourth time). Look up Lollapalooza on wiki, click on lineups by year, and check out 1993. Holy fucking shit. I couldn't imagine seeing Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, and Tool all in the same day. I fantasized about seeing a combo of any of those two together, before, but I never imagined it was once possible to see all three together. Incredible.

I'd like to check out Voodoo Experience for the first time since '01(saw Tool, Lateralus follow-up tour :). And Bush...), but so far Kiss(yuck) is the only band that's been announced. It was bad-fucking ass seeing Tool, on Halloween weekend, in New Orleans City Park.

EDIT: And I swear to fucking god, if I do go see Tool for a fourth time, and they once again refuse to play anything from Opiate or Undertow, I'm gonna merc them in their sleep, whispering:

"You could have played 'Crawl Away' instead of 'Lost Keys' you faggots":mad::mad:

I'm going to AllGood this year. Cheaper than most festivals and is about an hour away from where I live.

Line up
# Ben Harper & RELENTLESS7
# Bob Weir & RatDog
# moe.
# STS9
# Umphrey's McGee
# Dark Star Orchestra
# Keller Williams
# Les Claypool
# Yonder Mountain String Band
# Lotus
# Tea Leaf Green
# Buckethead
# The Bridge
# SOJA
# Bassnectar
# Steve Kimock Crazy Engine
# Donna The Buffalo
# The New Mastersounds
# Todd Snider
# BoomBox
# Jackie Greene
# Lake Trout
# Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk
# Hill Country Revue
# Cornmeal
# Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave
# Fear Nuttin' Band

And for the person that said something about the crowd being rough around the edges, the people at Allgood are the same as any other music festival, drunk, high and horny.

Bump.

Electric Picnic 09. I'm gonna be the drunkest and most stoned person there, you can belee' that. US magazine Billboard describing it as "a magnificent rock n roll circus, a textbook example of everything a festival should be" and Rolling Stone stating it "one of the best festivals we've ever been to" .

I heard these guys at Electric Daisy Carnival this year despite having never heard of them before. Definitely give them a listen, everyone at the festival loved it.

Attended only 2 festivals so far this year. Got to see some bands I NEVER thought I'd see in my lifetime which was pretty fucking awesome.

Saw Fishbone and Zappa Plays Zappa one after the other at the blues festival in my town and the Specials at a fest called Splendour In The Grass. Same location as blues fest.

Rest of the bands at these mainly sucked large amounts of cock.
