View Full Version : Convince me not to start playing WoW again

Recently I've been wanting to play WoW a lot. However, I really don't want that kind of time-sink... there's too much going on in my life and getting involved in such a time-consuming activity would just kill my social life.

So, remind of the reasons that I'm not playing.

Well, this (http://geek.pandemonium.de/2006/06/15/10-reasons-why-world-of-warcraft-sucks/) isn't really all the reasons, and a few of those reasons on it don't really belong, but thing for me was that I enjoyed playing it with other people that I was around, and I found that I spent more time wishing that things were different than enjoying how they were.

If I ever get into mmorpgs again (which is unlikely), I'm going to wait for a new one, rather than jumping back onto a bandwagon that has been rolling, quite honestly, for a pretty long time.

QFT, dude.

I think that "Spider ichor" pretty much sums up my biggest problem with the game. Hunting for goddamned ingredients, having to deal with idiots on either "side" of the game, the dead economy in NPC stores, the broken economy in the AH, the fact that the game is pretty much set uup so that you can either run through the entire thing ALONE or you NEED a group. I understand that that's the point of the mmorpg genre, but I really would have appreciated:

1 - more possibilities for "soloing"
2 - more challenges and game depth mid-game, to help lazy players over the hump
3 - a LESS STATIC GAME WORLD. I mean come on, a realm that's just opened is virtually identical to one that's been online since the game began. There needs to be some tangible advantage to being on an older realm other than the spread of the player levels and the AH.

But I digress- I could complain about what is and discuss what should be for much longer than anyone would want to read, and THAT is why I don't play anymore.

you just answered your own question. it all comes down to choosing which one you want and sticking to it.

or just do a bit of both.

Work hard like me, get decent grades (e.g. 4A's at A level) and then become a doctor, or actually go for a decent well paying career... wait dont bother with the grades, the cunting admissions tutors will only reject you just like me.

Huh. Well, I made this thread a long time ago and still haven't started playing again. So I guess whatever convincing happened (spidor ichor, I'm looking at you...) was successful.

I wasn't able to play it for more than 2-3 hours at a time. Played for about a year and got to level 59.

it'd ruin your social life. Way to answer your own question, faggot.

I can assure you that most of the people in this thread have never played the game. Or if they had, did not play for long.

Also, lol @ Pill Popper.

It's expensive? Cellphone bills are upwards of 50 dollars a month, for mostly useless services.
